Beat foundation for very dry skin

So I know that the best foundation is good skin, I'm trying to moisturise every day and drink more water but my skin is still very dry. I don't like the matt look, so what is a good dewy finish foundation for a 62 year old. I currently use a Charlotte Tilbury one, can't remember what one but I feel it's a bit too shiny.

Title should say best foundation

What's your budget and how much coverage do you want?

Lostallhistory · 29/04/2026 21:37

I'd like full coverage for age spots , budget is around £40

great skin prep is key, a milky toner and good moisturiser. Then I’d deffo recommend NARS light reflecting foundation!

I’ve gone from Estée Lauder double wear to an Eborian cc cream. The biggest thing though is using a primer under the foundation and a setting spray on top. I’m mid sixties.

For me, what mattered most was what I put on below it. So after a balm cleanser, glycolic acid, serums, and a moisturiser, I use 8hr nighttime miracle, which is a balm barrier. When I use foundation after that, it goes on nicely and isn't drying. The foundation I'm using is futurist hydra. It's light but good coverage and spf 40.

Hi. I suggest a serum foundation with dimethicone & glycerin in the base. Application with a damp sponge rather than a brush is what makes the biggest difference to how dewy versus overly-shiny result looks.
