Brilliant under eye concealer for older skin

This is something that comes up a lot on here so I thought it worth making this recommendation.

I have bad dark under eye shadows (genetic ones) and the full coverage concealers like Benefit Boingg that were perfect when I was a bit younger now look cakey and settle in the fine lines under my eyes.

Boots No7 Hydro-luminous Under Eye Concealer (in a blue tube) is the best compromise I've found. Although it doesn't give the same coverage, it doesn't cake or settle in lines and it goes on smoothly like an eye moisturiser. It covers a bit (not all) of the shadow but lightens and brightens too. Also not that expensive. Not as good coverage as the Collection one (also good and cheap) but a much dewier look which I think is flattering on older skin.

You can probably tell I have tried them all :-) and I think this is a good one for older skin so I wanted to come on and recommend it.

Great recommendation, for genetic dark circles on mature skin coverage isn't always the answer. So always check the INCI, a concealer with glycerin/hyaluronic acid/squalane in the base alongside mica will give that brightening non-cakey effect.

I like the Laura Mercier one

Have you tried YSL touché eclat? It’s a classic for a reason!

For me it used to work but now sinks into fine lines

Thank you OP, will give it a try - my under eye lines are shocking!

I think the key thing is not to powder under your eyes post-concealer. I also used to apply balm under my eye (orange lipstick style tube - forget name) but did nothing. By Terry has hyaluronic acid in it but it’s pricey. That’s the downside.

I also just apply concealer at outer corner of eye and inner corner and under inner corner and spread as needed. I’m light on applying it otherwise you look like a corpse.
Erica Taylor is good for advice.
