I work 7 days a week and long hours in hospitality and have to wear black shoes, until now have just done dolly shoes but I’m in agony!! My feet are killing me so I need help with some smart (ish) looking shoes that are not going to make me want cut my legs off by the end of the shift. I’m not a trainer person but may consider them if they are comfortable

I really like the Vionic brand. They are pricey but worth it and you can usually get them on Vinted. Otherwise what about Skechers? Though they are trainers so not really what you’re after

My DC works in hospitality and their feet really suffer from the long days and 22000 steps in the shoes they have to wear. They have to be smart, the uniform policy is quite strictly enforced.

Gel orthopaedic insoles have made a huge difference, plus actually looking after their feet, I don’t know which cream it is but a foot cream with some sort of acid in it has helped their feet to heal - they were cracked and bleeding.

When trying on new shoes (they last less than six months) they always try them with a new pair of gel insoles.

Do exercises to strengthen the muscles in your feet, particularly ones like the short foot exercise. Videos online, but if you're not sure what you're doing it would be worth paying for a single physio session (c.£45 where I am) - and a physio would also be able to tell you what specific features to look for in shoes.

My starting point for shoes would be Clarks. They have lots of all-black styles, some designed for jobs that involve lots of walking and standing. There are smarter styles than the ones I've linked, but if comfort is your absolute priority these would be top of my list if smart enough:
Mary Jane styles: Solevana or Orlene
A slip-on that might work with trousers.
