Soft, flat shoes from Fit Flop

Posters always used to rave about Fit Flop Allegro, but I don’t think they make them any more? So if I want a really soft ballet flat or loafer/brogue from Fit Flop (something quite feminine) what’s good this year?

Anyone?? There used to be a lot of Fit Flop fans on MN!

I am interested in any answers, I have seen some ballet flat type shoes on the website with a sparkly bow but I am not sure if they would be too flat for me. I want something for in between as not always wearing trainers and boots but not warm enough for sandals yet. I don’t think Fitflop have a great range at the moment.

PinkEasterbunny · Yesterday 10:48

i think Fit Flop flats have some sort of hidden arch support but was hoping posters could confirm?

I’m also in between footwear seasons!!

https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/delicato-high-cut-soft-leather-ballerinas-p-A0P#B87 like these?

I've got several pairs and they've all got arch support even the flat sandals. I bought a pair of boots and wore brand new to New York on a city break - didn't have a single blister and we did at least 30k steps every day.

Very basic selection this year I agree . Seem to concentrate on toe post flip flop type wedges which are very comfortable. I too would like to see an inbetween style that is not trainers . Some brogues look nice .

They look lovely @BridgetJonesV2 - are the backs of the heels quite rigid, or are they soft?

I have two pairs of www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/delicato-soft-leather-mary-janes-p-E3D#090 FitFlop Delicato ballet flats. They are insanely comfortable. The backs of the heels have a soft cushioned padding, and you can wear them straight out of the box - no rubbing at all. Great for spring/summer days when it's too warm for socks but too rainy/chilly for sandals.

Pieceofpurplesky · Yesterday 12:56

I have several fitflops. The ballet flats are really comfortable as they have an arch. Always good deals on their website too

user593 · Yesterday 13:46

The Delicato. I used to buy the Allegro but prefer these.

I have two pairs of Delicato maryjanes but I’m frustrated to find the ballet sole is so thin the leather around the heel is scuffed beyond repair and smart wear after only a few times wearing them outdoors. There is built-in cushioning and arch support inside but nowhere near enough for walking any distance or all day on your feet. I’ve had PF and Achilles tendonitis in the past. I wouldn’t buy Delicato shoes again. By contrast I can walk all day in their leather Rally trainers.

That's interesting. I've worn one pair of mine to death, and will happily do miles in them. I agree the soles aren't particularly deep but I don't remember any great wear around the heels.

It may be specific to me. I walk heel to toe and strike the pavement hard with my heel when I’m walking fast. I had the same issue with previous Fitflop shoes where the leather covered the heel.

Mydoghealsmyheart · Yesterday 16:32

The Mary-Jane style shoes have such a flat sole that I cannot walk in the shows for long periods without my PF starting up. Whereas in the rally trainers, I’m fine. But I agree with others that there are limited styles at the moment on the website. I’ll be interested to see how you get on with the Skechers OP.

Notanotherpairofsocks · Yesterday 16:38

After a broken ankle I bought a pair of Allegro in taupe suede, the heel part has an elastic back which rubbed and always gave me blisters, stick to thd toe posts now.

While I deliberate over Fit Flop, I ordered these, just to see what they're like:

Cleo Walk - Runway Hit | SKECHERS UK

Yes, I know they're Skechers ....... !!!!

I tried those on in store last week and almost bought them. They were very light and soft, basically like walking barefoot. They were just a bit too big for me, and they didn't have half sizes

I also bought the fit flop delicato Mary Jane's. They were far too narrow on the toes for me - I must have wide feet, although literally all my other shoes are Fit Flop trainers so they must be more generous

I got the Delicato in Desert Tan after seeing them recommended on here, but they have scuffed very badly after one (normal, but walking round a city I suppose) wear. Never had leather shoes scuff so bad. They also gave me blisters but I think I expected too much on that front after reading rave reviews here. Never again

LittlePinkWeed · Yesterday 20:16

FitFlop used to be recommended on here for people seeking relief from plantar fascitis, because all the styles tended to have a bit of a heel (more like a wedge sole rather than separate heel) and PF is exacerbated by long-term use of flat shoes (eg ballerinas). But they've changed their styles and now only sandals and lace-ups are higher at the heel. Day shoes are now completely flat and unsuitable for PF. So you don't see much enthusiasm for FitFlop on here anymore, apart from for their Rally trainers.

I had a pair of allegros a few years ago but I couldn't wear them for long as I found the back around the heel was cut too high and the edge would cut into the back of my ankles which was disappointing. I left them in my work locker when we locked down and then they disappeared lol. Didn't miss them.

I have these now in burgundy and they are so confortable: https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/delicato-soft-leather-mary-janes-p-E3D#090

I really miss Fitflop Lena flats, I have many pairs and love them. I agree the leather is very thin and can easily get nicked or scraped. I colour them in with sharpie pen as I dread having to bin them. I live in hope this style will be re issued by Fitflop.
