Went for the big chop and it’s not quite gone to plan

I’ve chopped off my god-awful damaged waste length curly hair that really was horrific and aging me terribly.
And now I look like Lord Farquaad
What do I need to do to rectify this when I go to the new Hairdressers please? All inspiration gratefully received.
I also did one of those boxes dies on my hair to make it mid brown just a little bit darker than I am naturally and it’s gone a very fetching shade of orange
The majority of that’s been cut out now
I’ve been blonde for my entire life, but I do look old. I really do for my age. 48
So I was going to just try and go with my natural colour to see if that worked a bit better for me mid Brown, but I’m not sure if that’s a mistake

to go from blonde to darker - start of with a shade that has some auburn tint in it (like a 5.3) then gradually go a darker shade. It will stop your hair going orange, or worse, green!

It’s a bit late for that now

Wouldn’t the red tones in the auburn show through the darker colour? I had red hair years ago and still have undertones when I dye it dark it’s a nightmare!

Might be a bit late for the OP now, but I was always told to use an ash colour first to prevent orange undertones?

My hair disasters have looked 100 x worse than that lol😜. Your hair looks normal to me.

As is always the way I’ve washed it and it looks 100% better who knew? 😂

Genuinely laughed at Lord Farquaad- but your hair’s nothing like that! Try a side parting- that’s my failsafe way of making my hair look semi decent.

The texture is what it is. It’s super curly when it’s looked after no changing that, even with a blow dry.

Embrace your natural curl rather than trying to smooth it out. Use curl products and scrunch your damp hair, leave it to dry naturally, then run your fingers through it when dry to break up any product stiffness.
Colour wise it doesn’t look orange, it looks very natural, your roots are slightly different in colour and you could perhaps have some soft streaks through it all, eg either highlights or caramel lights. It’s really lovely hair OP ! And you can tell by your neck that you have good skin, I can’t imagine that your hair was aging you at all, possibly it just needed a little trim.
