I'm planning on wearing this dress https://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=boden+ivy+smocked+midi+dress&fr=yhs-sz-002&type=type80260-2779283427&hspart=sz&hsimp=yhs-002&imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boden.com%2Fcdn%2Fshop%2Ffiles%2F25wwin_d1034_nvm_w01_e57c551a-0449-41f8-9781-cb74357321c6.jpg%3Fv%3D1758806428#id=15&iurl=https%3A%2F%2Fxcdn.next.co.uk%2Fcommon%2Fitems%2Fdefault%2Fdefault%2Fitemimages%2F3_4Ratio%2Fproduct%2Flge%2FF17259s3.jpg%3Fim%3DResize&action=click
for my daughter's very small registry office wedding next week - just close family. I bought and returned nine dresses so am sticking with this one I've only worn a couple of times. (Will buy something new for the big party later in the year.)

I'm stuck on shoes. I thought I could wear these which are very comfortable https://www.boden.com/products/women-high-cut-flat-point-classic-leopard-a2138leo?_pos=5&_sid=a0fe3dfad&_ss=r
Rixo does lots of mixing leopard print and polka dots but in reality I'm a tall, large 62 year old and I don't think it's the occasion for the combination! So I'm looking for some maybe navy, maybe a different colour shoes (was planning on a mustard bag but that I can change), ideally flat/flattish. Not keen on spending much more than £100, happy to spend much less as I probably won't wear them much. Size 7 1/2 or 8. Not Mary Janes and not MOB type shoes. Sandals would be OK but the dress has long sleeves.

I really struggle with shoes these days - have some great navy Hobbs wedges but I'm very aware at 5'10 I'm taller than lots of others (doesn't bother me day to day but it will for the photos) and they are too high. Like most people, I live in nice trainers, boots and Birkenstocks.

Are there any sites/shops that I'm missing? We're not near a big town - Bluewater or on line are my options. Thank you! It's so hard with so few shops around these days!

High Cut Flat Point-Classic Leopard

A versatile pair of everyday leopard print flats that look great with any outfit – especially some white jeans. They have a pointed toe and adjustable strap.

The navy Lotus shoes don't fit - definitely a very small size 7, so that's one decision made! The gold Jones ones are unavailable but I now want some silver or gold shoes regardless of whether I wear them next week! Mumsnet has cost me a fortune over the years 😂

What's the brand I've seen on here - Oskka, Okssa, something like that? Google isn't helping much!

Esska! That's it, thank you!

Liking these which are neither flat nor metallic! And lots more on the site as well! Have spent far too long in my Gazelles!!

I think your original shoes are fine for this

Mumwithbaggage · 19/04/2026 17:14

Well that would save me quite a lot of money!

The leopard ones in meant. Maybe you dont have them yet.
Enjoy the wedding, and be comfortable

Thanks, yes I have the leopard ones and have already worn them. They are comfy and I really like them. I'm a massive overthinker!!

I had some heels like that (minus the Taxi bit) back in the 1980s! Bright yellow with white and black circles on. Those are indeed fun but probably a bit out there for me!

Anthropology stock some Esska styles. They had something very similar to this in gold leather last year...

Mumwithbaggage · 19/04/2026 22:02

Esska shoes now bought. Leopard print flats from Boden got a less than positive reaction from youngest dd! And the mustard shoes have the same name as the dd getting married - didn't realise till I went to pay!

These are mine. Way outside my comfort zone, but they were on offer and ridiculously cheap, and they are really comfy

Love the Esskas. My feet are very flat and I find I can wear platform sandals all day long and dance in them, whereas as flat shoes with thin soles don't have enough support.

Mumwithbaggage · 20/04/2026 11:24

Same heel shape as mine! Hope the wedding is fantastic @Zebracat !

The Esska sandals are lovely. Agree with PP you don't want to wear navy shoes or it'll be too blah. Dress is lovely and you can wear all kind of bright accessories with it, mustard and green as already suggested but red shoes would also look good.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 20/04/2026 13:07

The Esska heels are gorgeous and should be very comfortable! Although I am another who approved of the leopard print. Glad you're not going for navy now though.
