Style tips for a larger bust with a short waist- minimiser bra worth it?

I hate my large bust. It ruins the fit of all clothes. I’m not even that big (32f) but I feel they are big compared to the rest of me and I have a short waist and they just make it seem even shorter. I feel like I’m boobs and then hips with very little in between.

Has anyone found a bra that actually works to compress and reduce your bust but still look ok?
Also any tip for dressing a big bust short waist beyond scoop/v neck tops is appreciated. If I could afford it I’d be tempted to get a reduction. But then I’m a big scardy cat so maybe not.

You are like my Mum, she's bigger busted though at 36G, but has the same issue....short waist. She tends to wear separates, rather than dresses, because they don't sit right on her. She's short too at 5ft.

I'm a 32FF, taller than Mum at 5ft 2 and a longer waist than her. As long as dresses are petite fitting I'm fine. I can't wear proper wrap dresses, they look dreadful on me, even though they're supposed to suit a big bust.

I don't wear a minimiser bra. I like balcony style ones, non-padded and underwired. Non-wired bras make me look saggy!!

I can’t wear non wired bras either. They’re either saggy or mono boob. I have a couple of dresses that suit but they are maxi dresses with v necks and a tie belt. But they’re not everyday wear. I just feel like nothing else suits. Skinny jeans/ leggings help a bit as they slim my bottom half to balance out the top. But can’t wear those anymore as fashion disaster plus don’t find skinny jeans very comfortable.
I despair I just look frumpy or matronly in everything. It’s so depressing. I’m not trying to be fashionable but I’d at least like to look half decent as to not embarrass the kids.

I feel your pain. I am a size bigger on top than the rest of me. Dresses just don't work, they are either too big on the waist or straining to hold the boobs.
I found a really good bra helped the most, but I had to go for a fitting and try loads to find the one that worked best.
Once the foundations are sorted finding clothes became much easier. Separates are the best way so you can get the best fit. Wide leg trousers are possible but you need a really well fitting top.
What sort of look are you going for? Casual, office and how old you are will decide what sort of thing you are looking for.

I work from home, so definitely a casual look. One of the things I struggle with the most (other than dresses) is jumpers! I hate being cold and it’s always freezing in this country but keeping warm just makes me look massive as I have to size up due to my bust or they never hang right because the damn things.
I'm 42 and size 10/12. I have a bit of a lower belly mum tum which doesn’t help. I’m trying to get rid but no luck yet.

I like a very fitted long sleeve top with a 3/4 sleeve on top in a contrasting colour. I tend to wear that with slightly baggy jeans with the front of my top tucked in (I think it's called a French tuck). It seems to give a defined waist, it's warm and a bit modern (I'm in my 50s so a bit modern is as good as it gets). It also allows the jeans and baggyish top to balance out the large boobs with an actual waist so I don't look like a barrel.

I'm the same size and a similar shape. I've switch between balcony bras and these minimiser ones. They definitely help and I think they are really comfy. I tend to go for a mid rise on trousers to increase the distance between boobs ending and my hips or I can look like I've no waist at all.

Would help if I posted the link

Its very similar to the M&S minimiser one but the straps on the M&S one slip and lengthen all the time which when you are short from top of my boobs to my shoulders doesn't help to keep them up

Thanks for the bra tip @scramalam i will check it out. I struggle with mid rise trousers due to muffin tops. They are either too tight and cause over spill or too loose and slip down causing a lumpy outline. Unless they are elasticated. Maybe I should just live in tracksuit bottoms? But I worry that’s trying to look too young.
