Magic body cream for saggy creepy skin?

ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake · 07/04/2026 19:20

Has anyone found one that works and is inexpensive?
Early 50’s but weight loss and surgical menopause have left me with the skin of an old lady on my body, and it happened almost overnight.

Has anyone found something that works that
a)doesn’t leave your skin unable to breathe and causes you to sweat?
B) doesn’t cost a fortune?

I’ve had these in my basket after seeing them advertised, but then which one is best, and would they actually work or just gather dust on my shelf as another waste of money?

No idea @ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake but I googled your post title last night so am hoping someone can help!

EffinMagicFairy · 07/04/2026 20:50

I noticed this when I lost weight, I use Aveeno or baby oil religiously after every shower whilst still damp, I also started body pump classes, since toning up, it’s much less noticeable, especially on my arms.

I've used these and they smell lovely and skin feels nice but doesn't really make a difference.

BoysBagsShoes · 07/04/2026 21:39

I’ve used the one in the pink bottle and saw no difference.

Wallywobbles · 07/04/2026 21:41

I put my HRT vagina cream mixed in with normal face cream on face, neck and chest. It has made a significant difference in my opinion. My cleavage is the most noticeable (to me)

ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake · 08/04/2026 07:09

@EffinMagicFairy i am actually really toned, you’d just be hard to see my rock hard muscles under all my crinkly skin 😫 ChatGPT says that’s a good moisturiser to keep skin soft, but not effective on crinkles.

Thanks for the suggestion @MakeMineStrong i will look into it.

@Wallywobbles at £20 a tube of Ovesse and a fair bit of skin to cover, that’s not affordable unfortunately.

Lots of quizzing ChatGPT came up with these options. Paula’s choice is way out of my budget, the £9.99 is only 200ml and won’t last long, but I have some Boots points so might give it a go.

Can you explain more about this please? Is this prescription HRT vagina cream or OTC stuff? I can’t have oestrogen tablets but the GP said cream or gel is ok… 👀

Do you use that all over?

user593 · 08/04/2026 07:20

Just discovered this while holidaying in Asia, it’s cheap and feels lovely going on (smells amazing too). Too early to determine the results but worth a try as it’s inexpensive and nice to use.

I thought that the instructions make clear that hormonal patches or gel must not be applied above the lower stomach because of the higher risk of breast cancer associated with the oestrogen in HRT.

Not a cream - but a scoop of Micronised Creatine powder in my coffee (or smoothie) every morning has made a noticeable difference to the crepey skin on my arms in a few weeks. My sis recommended it to me, I was dubious but it really seems to work.

Saturnista · 08/04/2026 09:33

OP on WLI are suggesting that the old fashioned (Dark Blue Orginal) Nivea is amazing for loose and crepey skin following weight loss.

ApplesAreAmazing · 08/04/2026 10:41

Take collagen, I take bovine powdered collagen in my coffee each morning, not primarily to help with skin but for joint health. The additional effects on my skin are great. Skin products I really like Prai. I would plan to buy during black Friday and sign up for their emails as they have good offers.

I am a rule follower so only use it on my neck and chest area. I’ve been using this bottle every night since November and do think it’s made a difference.
Probably just because I’m moisturising the area regularly tbf but my skin is definitely smoother and less wrinkled there.

CarbonArtist · 08/04/2026 16:22

I would look into treatments, eg microneedling, MCA needling, maybe HIFU or radio frequency. Likely to be more effective than topicals and you can get cheap deals on Groupon so not as expensive as you might think.

ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake · 08/04/2026 17:42

@LovesLabradors could you link which one you use please?

@CarbonArtist if I could afford treatments, my face would be top of the list!
If I ever win anything on lotto I’m booking CO2 laser, and yes, I will be going for it head to toe 😂

@Saturnista nivea is v thick. I’d end up a puddle of sweat if I used that unfortunately. I’m a sweaty gal anyway, it’s awful!

@ApplesAreAmazing I’m veggie. I have taken that in the past over a decade ago but really didn’t feel any benefit, although I wasn’t crepey then tbf. I will look for prai but imagine it’s beyond my budget.

@CarterBeatsTheDevil vaginal oestrogen provides ‘minimal to negligible systemic absorption’ . It can even be used by women who can’t use systemic HRT, including some breast cancer survivors. It’s not the same as HRT gel or patches.

Amen, OP. When things reach that stage, I’m going to one of those dodgy clinics in Lithuania for CO2 laser.

If you have a strong stomach you could micro-needle at home? You can get a Dr Pen kit for about £40 and a tube of Emla cream is only £5?

ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake · 08/04/2026 18:06

Thanks @LovesLabradors

Ive been considering one @CarbonArtist i derma stamp my face already but I’m thinking something more hardcore might be more worthwhile!

@ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake
I was told by my oncologist that vaginal oestrogen was not advisable for people who have had breast cancer. She did, in the end, say it was up to me if I continued using it, but I decided probably safer not to.

Systemic absorption. It stays where it's applied and only a little travels round the body. That's fine when you apply it to your vagina where it's supposed to go, but are survivors of breast cancer encouraged to apply vaginal oestrogen cream directly to their breasts or decollete as a skin treatment?

ImSoMuchOlderThanICanTake · 09/04/2026 11:44

@CarterBeatsTheDevil pp can make their own choices, I didn’t encourage anything, I was simply pointing out, after you said it shouldn’t be used above the waist, that topical vaginal oestrogen doesn’t work in the same way as the gels or patches, in that the risk is negligent to minimal.

@Shinyhappyapple the bms advises that it’s fine for women taking tamoxifen, but not aromatise inhibitors, which is why I said ‘some breast cancer survivors’

Sorry, I am really not trying to be difficult about this but non-systemic doesn't mean it doesn't have any effect on tissue where it's applied. If you put oestrogen cream on your chest it will be absorbed there. It just won't travel anywhere else. I don't think you're necessarily right when you say that applying oestrogen cream intended for and prescribed for the vagina directly on breast tissue won't have any effect on it.
