Giant pores / spots on my back - HELP

Is there any way to get rid of giant pores on my back?? I have also developed quite a few spots there. I am in perimenopause if that is relevant, which I think it probably is 🫠 I hadn't noticed till DD mentioned it, not unkindly, when I was wearing a strappy top for the first time this year. When I looked in the mirror I was mortified; the pores are enormous and look "squeezeable" from the photo I got her to take so I could see. The only thing I can think of is if I cover the entire area from between my shoulder-blades to my waist in those nose-strips?

As a teenager I had absolutely awful acne all over my back and my chest, I was on loads of different medications for it but nothing seemed to work, I was using that Oxy cream (which bleached some of my favourite tops as well as my bed linen), when my parents finally took me to the doctor and I was prescribed antibiotics, long-term ones. This didn't work so after about 18m I was told to go on the pill, it was one called Dianette.

I have had salt-scrubs done at the beauty parlour, I don't know if that might help?

I always avoid having conditioner touching my back as my hair is quite long and I think it can make "bacne" worse.

I am so stressed and upset; I hadn't realised my back looked like this, DH hasn't said anything but I am worried about wearing clothes that will show my back now even though summer is coming.
I was really badly bullied for my horrible skin as a teenager so that probably doesn't help things.

I use a Salux towel and niacinamide soap for bacne.

Occasionally follow up with glycolic acid. The Ordinary from Boots is fine - about a tenner for a reasonably big bottle.

Thank you so much - have bought both - am absolutely mortified it looks like this. How long did it take to make a difference?
With the glycolic acid, do you just rub it onto your skin or do you need to wash it off?

Oh you should be fine for summer! Don't worry. It's a tricky spot if you're prone to it like we are. The main thing is to increase the cell turnover and let your skin heal itself, which it will! Younger people have a turnover rate of about 28 days, but this slows over time and can drop to 45 or even 60 days as we age. Basically exfoliants will help to speed this turnover up. So realistically 24 min to 60 days max to resurface the area. That's why skin stuff usually says it will take 6 weeks to show improvement.

Wipe glycolic acid onto clean skin and leave it to soak in. Don't do it too much - start with once a week and then increase to 2-3 if needed. It doesn't need to be glycolic acid - any similar acid exfoliant will do - depends on your skin really. Salicylic acid is a bit stronger, lactic acid is a bit gentler. The key is to buy the active ingredient on its own and not a complex formulation and then it's easier to know what actually works well for your skin.
