Vinted - lack of sizing

Just a rant. Why do do many people list things on Vinted without a size? I know they have to select S/M/L but these are ranges. I want to know if a dress is a 12 or a 14 and this should be the most basic step in selling an item, surely.

I agree. I always put it in my heading description or the description text. It’s annoying when you have to scroll through the photos to see if there’s a size label photo.

Also, in cases where the manufacturer have labelled the clothes L -12, for example, they’ve ticked large, instead of the corresponding 12 box.

RaininSummer · 05/04/2026 08:29

Agree. Vinted is useless now and I used to love it. I also hate that hardly anybody says what the fibre or fabric is. I want to know that as it reflects on the price sometimes and also I do not like polyester or acrylic.

Agree. I always put the size in the title. That's another bugbear.

Vinted sizing is all over the place now. I only buy things if I’ve seen a photo of the size label (and always include one in my listings).

Crwysmam · 05/04/2026 13:24

I agree, particularly after the great size changing debacle. I tend to scroll past items with no photo of label or blurred photos. Most sellers will oblige by sending extra photos with tape measure views to give you an idea of actual size. I do tend to use it for the quality items rather than the worn out Primark tat, of which there is so much. Really can’t understand selling items for less than £10 it probably costs more in fuel to drop them off than you make in sales.

A seller tried to scam me recently. Bought a pair of sunglasses. Lots of photos, taken on a kitchen surface so not obviously taken from a retailers website. The glasses that arrived were not the ones in the photos. Seller tried to claim they’d sent the wrong ones by mistake. I made the mistake of ignoring the fact they had no reviews so probably had multiple accounts. Either they had been scammed themselves or they are trying to sell counterfeit. They even tried to discount them but they were awful and I wouldn’t have worn them.

The one thing about Vinted is that you can become a reliable seller/buyer by leaving reviews. A good buyer asks sensible questions and a good seller is helpful without trying to over sell.

I dont know how some people are working out sizing in Vinted.
I struggle coz Im usually looking for 10/12 and of course Vinted sizing is 8/10 and 12/14.🙄
The amount of people that that advertise clothing in completely the wrong size catagory.
Had one recently advertised as a 12/14 and the label clearly said 8! No wonder some people have trouble selling things.

I just got scammed last time for the first time actually, after loads of purchases previously. I bought a "Subdued" t-shirt for my daughter. When it arrived it clearly wasn't Subdued. The label was cut out. In hindsight, the picture in the listing showed someone holding the label in place which I assumed was just being held flat. The buyer said it must have fallen off in the wash which I was clearly untrue as it had make up marks around the collar, and the fabric felt like a Shein t-shirt. It was only a small purchase but a fake none the less.

I've given up trying to buy clothes for me on vinted.

Id be very curious how their women's clothing sales look in the UK compared to before they fucked up the size categories. 🤦

Floisme · 05/04/2026 16:01

I was late to Vinted and I'll be leaving early. Maybe I missed it at its best but what a let down it's been.

If sellers can't be arsed giving garment measurements without being asked then I can't be arsed doing business with them. And don't get me started on ironing.
Sorry, I know that doesn't apply to all sellers but I'm afraid there aren't enough of you.

Vinted is so weird now. I reported a post this morning, it was a beaded necklace claiming to be BNWT from COS, price was £25. One of the photos showed it half made with the beads in a little pot and some pliers, it was quite clearly home made. It wasn’t just #COS either, they had selected COS for the brand and hadn’t put “inspired by” or whatever in the listing. Apparently not breaking any rules though 🤷‍♀️

I also just asked someone how long a pair of trousers were, what was the inside leg. They sent photos of measurements from waist to hem and the width at the ankle. So I asked again what the inside leg was and they sent a photo of the rise measurement, waist to crotch. So now I’ve been through all my favourites and deselected any that didn’t have all the information I want.

I’ve lost weight over the last couple of years and Vinted has been great for building a new wardrobe, but now I can be a bit more selective and prefer to buy new in the sales, have had some great half price stuff recently. (Having said that I do have some £3 shorts on their way 🙂)

Can recommend Next Clearance tab (top right hand side on website). I’ve got some great bargains on there, and some of the prices aren’t too different to Vinted, plus if it doesn’t fit, you can return it! Not just Next items also, but includes other brands, plus defiantly brand new!

Thanks! I did have a bit of a haul in the Next sale, find them really useful now that they stock so many brands, also very easy (and free) collection and returns too.

Divebar2021 · 05/04/2026 19:18

Im the Vinted seller you want because I list my items properly. I iron them and I provide measurements and a realistic idea of the fit. All my reviews are 5 star. Unfortunately it’s really really time consuming. I’m tempted to put on one photo and say “ it just needs an iron “ and see how I get on.

henlake7 · 05/04/2026 19:37

I'm currently waiting on a pair of size 12 H&M jeans (according to the seller) but they took a photo of the label clearly showing they are actually size 10 New Look Adele ones. I just don't get it....🤔
I bought them coz I'm fine with the size and love New Look Adalae jeans!😅

I can sell less than £10 items because all my drop points are within 5 mins walk - no
fuel required! Any money, even £1 is still better than giving item away for free to charity.

I’m the same, I iron things, take good photos, list them properly etc, but then people send piss takey offers and I wonder why I bothered! The trouble is, as you say, that all these things are time consuming, and when people want to buy stuff at rock bottom prices, it’s just not worth your time.

henlake7 · 06/04/2026 14:09

I dont mind an unironed item, esp with a bad photo. Chances are I can get the price dropped as it isnt selling or they have put it up for cheap to start with!
(its not like I dont own an iron after all!!LOL)

Neveranynamesleft · 07/04/2026 20:01

I seriously wish people would stop saying something is ' new without tags ' when it quite clearly isn't new because it has quite clearly been worn ! Don't insult my intelligence with creased shoes with dirty worn down soles !
