Mum tum

I have two DC, abed 7 and 4 and I have a proper mum tum, overhanging belly. I'm about a size 10, so not big overall, but bigger than I was before I had kids, which is fine.

I need to make more effort to exercise and eat well but even then I don't know if there any way to address this belly without surgery. I don't see other mum's tums so I don't know how bad it is but it's more than I imagine would shrink back down.

Any tips (in addition to eating a better diet)?

Thanks in advance

Hopefully just to focus on that area would only need a few minutes a day.
Just seems the easiest place to start before getting into treatments?
But I can't recommend anything special in way of exercises!

Yeah ok thanks. I did say I was planning to look at diet and exercise as well in my OP.

I’m in a similar position after three kids and two c sections. Due to heading issues the skin underneath is taut which causes the overhang. I’m a 10 but look like I’m wearing a wee skin coloured bum bag 🤯 I’d hydroamniosis during two pregnancies and my bump was enormous.

I find some clothing brands suit me better than others - I find M&S bottoms make it look far worse, Uniqlo / Cos suit me far better.

ive a load of underwear like this - it’s lasted years and gives support rather than shaping.
its too old for me to give the name.

i find I just have to be careful about the fitting and proportions of clothes. There are some people on IG who talk about dressing for this issue.

the only way to eliminate it seems to be surgery but I wouldn’t go down that route as I don’t have the down time.

No hipster jeans for me anymore 🤣

Edited

I wear sloggi shaping knickers if I feel my tum is on show but I'm on a real mission now to cut down on eating the sugary stuff and I'm doing exercises for diastasis recti every day. I know that won't get rid of the loose skin but I do have a tiny bit of weight to lose and it can't hurt.

I don't think you can see my loose skin in clothes but I am altogether chunkier round the waist than I'd like. I have no idea whether slimming down will make the skin overhang look better or worse.

I've also bought a microneedle to use on my tum and possibly need a decent firming cream just cause it's probably worth a go!

I'm also not thinking of surgery at this point.

I've been eating better and exercising and I do feel like my waist is smaller. I've only lost a few pounds but my ab separation is much better and I look better overall even though it won't have done anything for the loose skin. I need to be more religious with firming cream as well as I'm sure it's just a placebo but then again moisture is more likely to help than not?
