Hair advice please

I find it difficult to describe my issue but I’ll try. I have fine hair, it’s long but fine. I can spend ages blow drying and straightening it and it looks great, volume and looks thicker but after 10 minutes it goes flat and my hair kind of separates and sticks together making it look all scraggly. Majority of the time I just shove it into a bun as even in a ponytail it will stick together and look scraggly. I don’t bleach my hair, wouldn’t say it’s bad condition. Even when I was younger I remember having the same issue. I have attached a few photos what I found online which is similar to help gain an idea of what I’m talking about. I’m at a loss, I try so hard to make an effort with my hair but nothing works it drives me mad, I see people out with lovely hair all day, surely they don’t have to brush it every 5 minutes to make it look nice. I used to find a layer of hair extensions helped it look better but I just want my natural hair to look good. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is the same, I’m afraid I’ve not got any advice but I’d be interested if anyone else does.
I think it’s probably just a hair type issue, mine is fine but lots of it.

I spent about an hour this morning looking at videos on YouTube that were presented by high end hairstylists.
One I kind of like is Justin Hickox, also Glam Girl Gabby.
I have fine hair hair too.
Justin Hickox video five hairstyles that make fine hair look thinner was quite informative.
On the basis of it I have decided to grow my hair out from a short layered cut to be blunt and just above the collarbone.
Of course all of this is irrelevant to you especially if you are a determined to keep your hair long.
In the photos it looks like the examples he gave when fine hair gets too long.
It gets too heavy and separates into clumps that start to look straggly.
Big difference having it cut in one of the styles he recommends for those of us who don't have lots of thick hair.
Before I got the layered chop my hair was long like yours and I spent every 5 minutes brushing it or combing it which was ridiculous and it really didn't help.
It's no use having long hair if like me you put it in a bun or tie it back more times than not.
I'm sure this wasn't the kind of advice you were looking for, but sometimes you come to the realisation that really long hair just doesn't work.

Thank you I will watch some of the recommended videos to see if it helps, I have actually tried shorter haircuts and looks even worse, the only thing that ever works is adding a row of hair extensions unfortunately, perhaps my hair just isn’t made to look good. I did even consider wigs at one point haha

Hi OP
I'm sorry to hear that even a shorter haircut, and I'm presuming you had a blunt cut, didn't help.
My shorter haircut had layering at the top for volume but as it grew you could see right through the bottom of my hair it was that thin.
Yes have a look at the videos they offer some good ideas but the hardest part is finding a decent hairdresser that knows how to work with very fine hair.
It just looks from your photos that cutting a few inches off would be best, but a good hairdresser will know what to do and what not to do.
I hope you find your perfect haircut!
