Vitamin C serums - recommendations?

Hi, I got a Medik8 vitamin C serum in a beauty advent calendar and loved it, but it’s a bit too pricey to replace (about £70). Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Have a look on Vinted. It’s often for sale there as it’s a popular item in Gift With Purchase beauty boxes, so people sell it on. I’ve bought some for £35, brand new and unopened.

Oh that’s interesting - will take a look, thanks!

If you liked that one, ingredient-wise look for vitamin C in the form of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or ethylated vitamin C. And if you want to boost results a bit you can pair it with supporting antioxidants like vitamin E or ferulic acid.

I use the Geek & Gorgeous one, which is sort of a dupe for Skinceuticals, but much cheaper. It’s been great.

The only thing is you have to order it online as I don’t think they sell in shops - I usually buy 3 bottles at once and keep the spare ones in the fridge.

The Medik8 Tetra-C Advanced was in a GWP recently so there are many full sized bottles floating around on eBay and Vinted.

Hi OP! You can start with a gentler form derivatives (like magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) which is less irritating & better in a wider range of skin types. Then look for supporting antioxidants such as vitamin E (tocopherol) and ferulic acid which help stabilize vitamin C and enhance protection against environmental stressors.

Thank you all, great recommendations!

Try Naturium. Still not cheap but more affordable than Medik8. I do love Medik8 peptide serum though

You might want to look for serums with a stable form of vitamin C, like sodium ascorbyl phosphate or ascorbyl glucoside, as they tend to be gentler and more affordable. Also check the packaging, since dark or airless bottles help maintain effectiveness. Consistency matters more than price, so a simpler formula can still give good results over time.

Skinceuticals has recently come off patent so there are a lot of cheaper dupes around with their signature Vit C, Vit E, Ferrulic.

I am currently using a Boots Brand - Modern Chemistry. There's also a Boots Vit C range which has an even cheaper dupe.
