Over 60, plus-size, sensory issues: comfortable smart-casual wardrobe ideas, UK & EU brands?

I wonder if I could ask for some advice and suggestions on here please from others in a similar boat about clothing recommendations which suit the following criteria?

I’m over sixty and my clothes no longer suit the life I lead. I live in a smartish city during the week, wfh pt, visit the office for meetings very occasionally where it’s smart casual.

Also I’m plus size and working on it but no longer want to wait until I have lost three stone before I buy a comfortable wardrobe.

Finally, I don’t know whether it’s menopause or my weight or something else but I can no longer stand the feel of anything synthetic, tight belts, tight bra straps, big labels, stiff fabrics, tailored clothes, uncomfortable seams.

Nor do I want to look as if I have just rolled out of a hedge.

5 ft 8 inch apple, slim hips and shoulders with enormous boobs and a tum. Don’t like my legs. Can’t do high waisted; I am definitely better with a mid-waist.

Look ok in wide leg if not a lot of pleats but what do I wear on top? And on my feet?

And I don’t have a massive budget either.

Is there any hope at all for me out there in terms of clothing choices please?

What size clothes are we talking about here?

Anything up to a 22/24, I’d look at M&S. Also had some reasonable stuff from TU, but you do have to be careful with fabrics.

I’m 20 on top and 18 below so I will look at M&S thanks

I don’t really want to wear jeans though.

(Edited bc I mis-read your question, sorry.)

Woolovers might also be worth a look, although personally I think they’ve gone off quite a bit from a few years ago - not a fan of most of their patterns. But there might be a few things that work if you’re selective and the fabrics tend to be decent.

Thank you! I’m not familiar with them but will have a look.
