Age spots on face

Hi

How do you cover these on your face?

Tried to get them lasered last year, unsuccessfully, and need to cover them?

I am a make-up novice 😊

Thanks

Hi. The key is a good color-correcting concealer before your foundation, peach or orange-toned correctors neutralize the brown tones in age spots really effectively before you apply anything on top. Ingredient-wise in your skincare, niacinamide & alpha arbutin used consistently will gradually fade them over time so you need less coverage eventually (not an overnight fix but they genuinely work with regular use!).

Thank you. Is there one you find particularly good?

Sorry, I am a novice 😂

Why did the laser not work? I have just had a test patch done on an age spot waiting to see if it works in next few days

I have melasma and some other good ingredients to look for that help with fading dark spots are licorice, kojic acid, transexamic acid and azelaic acid. You MUST use an SPF daily (at least 30, ideally factor 50) and the secret is consistency.

All of the above have been great in maintaining my skin tone and keeping my melasma largely in check. I will say though, the only thing that worked to really fade it originally was a series of chemical face peels and using prescribed hydroquinone and tretinoin. These can really dry out your skin, but were game changers for me in the lead up to my wedding.

Have a look at Skin+me and Dermatica online - they have some good prescription strength creams that have ingredients tailored to your needs.

Have you tried retinol? Or Vitamin C? They take time but should fade it.

Have you seen a dermatologist rather than a beautician?

Is it just pigmentation from sun?

I had a really big one. I started using a rose serum and it faded, then disappeared! I think probably any serum would do.
