Does the perfect bra exist?

I apologise this involves neither style or beauty in fact the polar opposite 🥴.

am desperately searching for a bra that is supportive but doesn’t agitate me under boob wise or create under boob sweat and itch.

I was a fan of M&S Flexifit non wired and loved them at first but if I get hot at all and then sweaty they are unbearable (not sure If they cause the sweat and itch or just add to it).
I’m considering a Miss Mary of Sweden Cotton fresh/ Keep fresh one but it’s a bit of an expensive gamble.
Have also considered a bamboo (Boody) one but would really appreciate recommendations.

I bought some different colours of that scalloped top bra from Amazon too and I find them very comfortable and not too sweaty.
Then I saw exactly the same bra on Temu for less than half the price and I'm trying a couple of them out now. So far, so good.
I've also ordered a couple of similar ones with mesh backs and sides (in fabulous colours), which might be good for very hot weather.

Just seen the answer. Pity as I find them comfy.

It is a shame , I thought there was a general view that wired bra’s can be harmful but I will look into it properly.

I like the Conturve wireless support ones - comfy and decent support, and not found them sweaty except in the warmest weather.

I am pretty sure that the Temu and Shein ones are the same.

If so, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I think the general view is that badly fitting and not supportive enough bras are harmful, it doesn’t matter if they are wired or not. They can prevent you from doing healthy activities such as running or brisk walking and put a lot of strain on the back and shoulders.

My boobs are small (wearing 30DD at the moment) but I haven’t found a non-wired bra that would give me a good shape, uplift and support at the same time unless it looks like a scaffolding for the Empire State Building.

Not sure why a wired bra would be harmful? If it’s fitted correctly you just don’t feel at all.

Victoriawould24 · 19/03/2026 17:23

I am going for a fitting at John Lewis next week and won’t rule anything out.

@CortieTat
I agree and haven’t found an unwired bra to support my 30 F boobs

My go to is a Fantasie wired side support bra but
I would love a softer bra that felt supportive.

This is going to sound nuts but my go to bras all come from Pep, Poundland. I've never found being measured has helped in my quest for the perfect bra and I've tried dozens in M&S and JL after being fitted. All useless.
Saw such a pretty bra in Pep one day, took a chance and bought the size that looked right. Perfect fit. Never found anything as good elsewhere. No changing facilities but keep receipt and labels on and you can return. Never needed to as the size seems totally consistent.

I really like Fantasie, my Belle is probably my favourite bra. Fantasie and Freya fit me really well and they are also well made and long-lasting. I have a Freya Arabella bra that I bought in 2009 and I still wear it at least once a week. It doesn’t look new but not worn either so they are a good investment IMO.

Skims!!!

honestly, they are brilliant. So comfortable and durable. Kim K
nailed these. I will never buy another brand.

Monolithique · 20/03/2026 11:21

The trouble with this question is that everyone has different issues. Mine is narrow shoulders so preventing slipping off bra straps is my thing.

Busybeemumm · 20/03/2026 23:37

Fantasie are the best bras imo. Great side support and comfortable and give a good shape. Start with a proper fitting. Try one in JL when you go for a fitting.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 20/03/2026 23:42

I’m the same size as you and love the boody bras.

After spending a fortune trying to work it out myself I went to Rigby and Peller but they were disappointing for a number of reasons. Eventually I booked an independent bra fitter, Sara at Bra Sense. I had an in person fitting but she does them remotely too. https://www.brasense.co.uk/?utmsource=ig&utmmedium=social&utmcontent=linkinbio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMjU2MjgxMDQwNTU4AAGnDW4bns6bGnvkWcNvEcFPOl9fYAJq-Sv3ZVO54Asvy7am3bAoXFCDBFA1VMaemrqdvVeg7iUhi2X-zbitMww

I can't give you a specific recommendation, but I wonder if you've ever gone to a brassiere specialty store - as opposed to a general clothing store.

I am an absolute convert to the jelly bra. It is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn.

I am in another country so can't say who else sells them your side, but I bought mine from Shein. There are companies who sell direct, but they all seem to be sourced from China anyway.

I usually wear a moulded non wire bra, and I was battling to find a decent replacement to my fave which was way too old to be decent.

I will be ordering another of the jelly bra, I only bought one as was not sure what it would be like. I have the one that has the scalloped edge.

It holds the girls up well (although I am not massively endowed at 32C).
It is completely seamless and so smooth under clothing.
I thought the straps looked a bit wide at first, but they are the perfect width for support.

I had this recommendation last night from the singer at a gig I attended as I've been struggling now my breasts are bigger and nothing seems to fit or look right or offer good support. I usually wear wired so this would be a big change but Jelly came highly recommended as did Shapermint.
