My under eyes are so puffy! Looked at some recent photos...they are so noticeable.

I've always had puffy eyes even when younger but now I'm middle-aged and they are so pronounced, it's dragging my face down! I have horizontal lines at the top of my cheekbones!

I've tried DrBrand eye cream, did nowt. I have several eye creams, serums. Nothing works.

I drink loads of water, take omega 3 - can anyone suggest any products or tips that have actually worked for you? I don't fancy rubbing my face with ice cubes or splashing cold water but if it shifts the bags I'm willing to give it a go.

Use something tightening like Sugar House Atelier Eyeconic eye gel. Ensure you only ever use a TINY amount of anything around your eyes. Get yourself an ice roller and keep it in the fridge. Cut down on salt and increase water intake.

If all else fails, surgery could be an option.

Salt and alcohol give me puffy eyes but if you have it all your life, it sounds more genetic.
Creams won’t help or splashing cold water on your face but a cold eye mask that you keep in the fridge would have a short term mild effect.
I would make an appointment with a specialist like Dr Sabrina Desai on Harley Street. It will cost 250 for a consultation but she can explain exactly what the issue is and what you can do to resolve it.

You need to learn a facial massage routine to clear out the puffiness. A very light touch with a gua sha each morning and evening after putting on some facial oil would help de puff.

It’s your lymphatic drainage which won’t be draining around your eyes, there’s some videos on you tube etc to show you how to do this and sleep with your head elevated , I also have micro needling under my eyes and massage with ice roller balls in a morning you have to be consistent oh and a good eye cream that contains caffeine.

Have you been tested for intolerances (you can buy kits online) - could be something you need to cut out

I get puffy eyes and have a hot roller type thing and I also take an antihistamine which seems to help.

I get this too and yesterday I bought some under eye gold gel patches from savers for £1.50 for 6 pairs. I tried them last night and they really worked. The puffy bags are back this morning though so im going to use them again soon. I put them in fridge overnight.

I always had really puffy eyes, and only when I hit 45 and got hayfever out of the blue, and started taking regular cetirizine, did they go

i was allergic to all kind of stuff all along!

started using hypoallergenic skincare, non-perfumed stuff, and with the anti allergy tablets the puffiness completely went

apart from days where I ate too much salt (takeaways) or alcohol

alcohol can make eyes puffy too, and salt/msg. Is your diet good?

NoWeaponsOnTheTable · 16/03/2026 18:30

I drink 2-4L water a day.
I eat decently.
Recently more or less cut out alcohol as finding it disagrees with me as I've gotten older.
Possibly eat too much salt so will watch that
and try lymphatic massage.
I'm not keen to go down the surgery route, I prefer to just try and look as good as possible without invasive procedures.

I have gotten a lot more sensitivity to things over the last few years also so I will think carefully about that.
Thanks for all suggestions so far.

I have found (by accident) that the drops I use for dry eyes have reduced the puffiness a lot. Happy accidental occurrence!
