Anyone tried for pre menopausal hair frizz?
Any down sides apart from price?
I have sensitive skin.

No but following as also interested

Myusername2015 · 14/03/2026 19:42

I had mine done for the exact same reason a few months ago. I had it in a salon; the result is not bad; it's saved my hair from turning into frizz instantly but menopause hot flushes still leave me looking like a clown in the morning. I've just brought a bottle to attempt to do it at home as the price is extortionate; will update with results!

Spaghettion · 14/03/2026 19:45

I had it so I could stop using heat and give it a chance to repair and grow (the sides of my hair were around 5 inches shorter than the back because it kept snapping at the ends) I had it done 3 times over a year and it worked, I now have long, even and thicker hair.

minnowonthesay · 14/03/2026 19:48

It definitely works, I used to have it done regularly, I’ve also find it a few times myself

What did you buy?

VividDeer · 19/04/2026 14:27

Well I've had it done. Tried not to wash it yet, but have to today. Its not a miracle but hopefully a bit smoother.

How is it going? I am booked in to have it next Friday and having a bit of a wobble!

JazzyAmbs · 21/04/2026 10:59

Oh exciting let us know how it lasts!

Laiste · 21/04/2026 11:02

K18 hair mask is a good home treatment. It's a bond builder. Use it 3 or 4 times on the trot and then drop to once a month or so.

ewwdavid99 · 21/04/2026 11:24

I've recently had it done and the results were initially amazing. 6 weeks in and my hair is still much less frizzy but I would say it doesn't look quite as sleek as when I first had it done.

ToadyPoady · 21/04/2026 21:53

I’ve had it done professionally a few times, if you have dry or frizzy hair, it’s incredible. More recently I’ve done it myself - I’d say almost as good for a fraction of the price, definitely worth it!

Edited to add I also have sensitive skin but have had no issues with that. A salon would do a quick skin test 48hrs before I think.

VividDeer · 21/04/2026 22:10

It is less frizzy.
My skin was fine and I'm hyper sensitive. No skin test.
Eyes did water but the smell was quite nice.
I need to wash and dry a few more times to decide if worth it. Cost was £100.

I’ve had it done in the salon and also DIY. The results were good but since learning the formulation contains formaldehyde, and is carcinogenic, I’ve rather gone off the idea.
Both times the fumes have been hard to bear.

ToadyPoady · 21/04/2026 22:42

I don’t think they use formaldehyde anymore, although that was the case initially. I’ve always used Cocochoco which doesn’t contain formaldehyde or other carcinogens.

VividDeer · 23/04/2026 08:12

Mine smelled of chocolate so probably the one referenced by @ToadyPoady
Someone complimented my hair last night.

I had fabriq smoothing recently - it don't know if that's keratin or something else. It's very good - my hair was too flat for the first month, but better now. I'll get it again when it wears off.
