First world problems and all that but dc is now 3 (!) and I'm still trying to tame the baby hairs that are growing out of my head in all angles since having him. I went really bald around my hairline all over my head by about an inch and have been working hard to grow that back, being really gentle with my hair and using rosemary/ mint oil etc and now they're about 2.5/3 inches long but when I try to put my hair up it's no time before they start sticking out of my head like I've been electrified and like I'm growing out an undercut. I try to use a clear gel to stick them down but it's not really strong enough so then they just pop up, shinier and pointier than before.

I have started a new job recently where I need to look more polished than in my previous job and I feel like my hair is kind of ruining the effect as it looks quite dishevelled by lunchtime with a halo of baby hair.

I have very long hair but washing and drying it etc is a pain, plus it gets dry if I wash too often and I'm a busy single mum so I need to be able to put it up out of the way at least a few days in the week.

Can anyone help? I could cut it but I really don't suit it short. I don't even feel like these bits are growing any more, it's like they've just kind of stalled.

12 week blow dry was the only thing that worked for me. Smoothed everything out, and even when the strands flew away they looked less dishevelled.

Mousse applied to the roots before blowdrying holds them down a bit too.

I cant help but watching as I have the same issue! I look disheveled at work anyway but could do without the lions mane I develop too!

Post-partum regrowth is so frustrating!

The rosemary and mint oil is fine for scalp health but it won't change how those hairs behave structurally, they just need time and length to get heavy enough to lay down naturally. For keeping them slicked back during the day, you need a much stronger hold product than regular gel, ingredient-wise look for ingredients like beeswax, PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone), or acrylates copolymers which are the film-forming polymers that actually create serious hold, and apply them to damp baby hairs then smooth them down.

Hope this helps!
