Any recommendations? Would love to buy her Tiffany gold heart/hardware bracelet but budget is more £50-100!!

She likes bracelet stacking in gold. Would like it to feel a bit 'special 16th'.

TIA

Lots that teach similar age are mad for Chloe bracelets.

OP, if you want solid gold, prices for second-hand items from reputable jewellers can be really good. And they can be polished up like new.

Could you upcycle something old into something more modern?

I'm having DM's rings made into something I'll wear (they are all to big) and having sorted through my jewellery box have found other items that I don't wear that can be traded in against the manufacturing cost.

I have a tkmaxx one the same brand as those posted and it really is lovely. If you want something special to last I would definitely gp for something like this or as others have mentioned look at second hand.

I have a gold bangle that I wear all the time, looks as new after almost 2 years. Really lovely items there

Ooh I got/bought the Tiffany hardware micro for my 40th. If I’m honest I’m scared to wear it. For a 16yo that’s a lot of responsibility to be carrying around. I really like the copies of the van cleef alhambra bracelets that loads of retailers are making. Obvs will be gold plated but so so pretty and way less responsibility. Also, if you’d like real gold, buy from second hand! They’re swamped with stock atm from everyone selling off their gold while prices are high, so you might get really good options.

AdoraBell · 14/03/2026 11:53

I second buying gold, even second hand. Hope you find something suitable OP

Lisa Angel have a beautiful gold plated waterproof range and prices are mostly around £25-30 so you could get a couple of items for stacking?

JasmineMac · 15/03/2026 10:45

My daughter is 16 soon too, I've bought her a Joma 16th bracelet and a 18c gold plated Sabo charm bracelet, with a 16 charm.

She's got at least another year of high school, and there is a strong likelihood these bracelets will be lost at some point (she has recently lost pricey gold earrings!). Thus real gold is no longer an option, until at least her 18th 😂

Thank you, was nearly sold on an Astrid and Muji but think I might do this, she loves a stack.

I would usually echo those who recommend second-hand but I don’t think pp realise just how nuts gold prices are right now. 9ct gold is fetching £40/g scrap value. Even a fine gold chain will be 6g or more: a stacking bangle will be closer to 10g. I’m sorry to say that real gold, even second-hand, is not achievable for a £50-100 budget.

I went for a gold necklace for my eldest 18th because I thought it would be less likely to be lost.

What about some vintage rolled gold? Bit more budget friendly but better quality that gold plated.
