What should a 4 year old wear to a black tie do?

My DH thinks our DD should be in a sparkly number - a bit like the chiffon ones you see in Monsoon, but I don't want to make her look like a bridesmaid (it's for a wedding and she isn't a bridesmaid) or a 'little adult'. I thought something like this: www.justdresses.co.uk/index.php?inc=5&drid=612
but DH thinks it's not glam enough.

Not to be outdone DH has already bought DS (six weeks old - will be three months at the time of the event) a mini tuxedo (black trousers, bowtie and waistcoat).

Advice on the girl's dress would be great.

You don't need to worry about your DD being glamorous-that is much to adult an idea to consider for a wee one. Little girl's look lovely in pretty cotton dresses, and look Disney-store cheap in layers of net/glitter/plasti-satin etc. IMO!

What would your Dh have her in, strapless satin with a split to mid thigh, and elbow-length gloves? (actually, my DD would LOVE that [Hmm])

This dress, with a cardi, is lovely.

spotty

A baby in a DJ is hilarious just plain wrong. Please take a photo don't do that

Dd1 has a v similar spotty frock - from Asda, cost £6.

Oh & Primark are also very good for flouncy garden party type frocks for toddlers at the moment.

(Just thought I'd throw those into the mix as you've had lots of fab but pricey suggestions - buy £6 frock, tell dh it cost £60, spend change on pair of shoes for you...)
