Considering going back to double wear, I’m in my 40s. Any less drying options?

I used double wear for years and think you can’t beat it for longevity and it not being transferable, but as I go in to my late 30s, it wasn’t really doing me any favours.

I switched to a mineral makeup which is lovely and is really easy to use, but it just doesn’t last anywhere near as long and I need good staying power.

Are there any other foundations I could try that has the staying power of DW but isn’t as matte maybe? Or even better, tips on how to make DW less drying?

I haven't used DW, but I do use estee lauder futurist hydra rescue and find it nice and light but lasts.

I got the new DW a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. It’s not as Matt looking or as heavy looking as the old one but it’s lasted great on my oily skin

Following for tips - want to move away from EL, raging Trump maniacs that they are

DW has changed very recently and it’s not the same product at all. This may or may not be in your favour, but most say it’s nothing like it used to be (me included)

I’ve found good success with MAC studio Fix and YSL All Hours, powder and a setting spray. Tried Dior today and as much as it was really nice, it didn’t give the fresh look I wanted .

@SparkyBlue I had read about the new formula. Is it still non transferable? I rub my face all the time and need something that’s nots going to slide around.

How was is for a bit of a glow? I know it’s still matte but do you still get a bit of radiance?

@TheDogIsMine Dior was going to be my next try but I’ve heard mixed reviews.

what was it about the new DW you didn’t like?

@bushproblems go and get a sample and see what you think. I’ve been very impressed so far . I can’t wear anything glowy as I have my own natural glow lol. I know oily skin is great from an anti aging point of view but a disaster for foundation but this is ticking all the boxes so far for me.

MooFroo · 03/03/2026 21:41

@bushproblems if you’re close to a shop that sells DW go in and let them do a test patch- they used to give small samples too so I’d always get one and try it for a few days before getting a full size bottle

I moved from DW to the futurist hydra glow too. It's easier to use and buildable coverage plus spf 40.
