Any hairdressers around??

as the title suggest, please can anyone tell me how I get this colour.

i have dark brown hair that has red/auburn undertones to it, which i feel makes my brown a rubbish shade. Everytime I’ve asked for the colour like the picture they say it’ll take time but it never gets there, the blond always goes caramel even if it gets lighter over time it’s still caramel which I don’t want.

any hairdressers have any suggestions on where it’s going wrong and what to ask for, no amount of pictures seems to help. I end up giving up and just get the hairdresser to dye it back to the brown (similar to my natural colour)

You'd likelyneed your hair bleached to the lightest blonde before toning to get the grey. Im guessing its not been bleached for long enough in the last

I'm not a hairdresser but I have bleached my mid-brown hair a lot at home. If you're a natural brunette, you will always struggle with warm tones showing through, because underneath the brown is orange (for medium brown) and then red (for dark brown). So if you are dark brown, the bleach needs to lift all the way through the red and then the orange and then the yellow to get to a pale blonde, and THEN you will need to use a cool-toned toner. And refresh the toner every few weeks. I gave up trying to be a cool blonde shade because the toner just washed out really quickly and I was left with yellow blonde.

Since it's only balayage that you're wanting, not a full head, it should be achievable, but the darker your hair is, the more damage it will cause to go that light. And just know that you will be forever fighting those warm tones.

I would try a different hairdresser and see what they say.

The biggest problem you have is the original image is AI so not a realistic outcome whatever a hair dresser does.

Hi OP,

I've added what I suspect to be the original picture. It's ever so slightly different to the one you posted. The tone is different. The pic I've posted is more of a pearl blonde. The image you've posted is more ash toned because there is a filter on the picture. Regardless of filters, light plays a massive part in how a colour will look. The copper hair pics were taken on the same day, minutes apart. The only difference is one was taken outside in natural light, the other was taken indoors. Neither have a filter - it's simply a trick of light.

A decent hairdresser will discuss this with you to ensure your expectations of what can be achieved is realistic. That way you cannot be disappointed.

Ask your chosen stylist to give you an idea (visually) of what you can expect your hair to look like within range of your desired look.
