here
is it:
a. classicly elegant or
b. crashingly dull

there is a mum in the playground who wears it sometimes and she looks gorgesous in it, however she is in fact gorgeous (blonde, slim, pretty etc)
so I may be fooled by that

It's quite mumsy, really. And not in a good way.

EffiePerine · 16/06/2008 16:12

I like the shape but not the price

CatIsSleepy · 16/06/2008 16:15

seems a bit posh for the playground

I think it is quite elegant actually (and hence something I would never be able to carry off)

would you feel better if I said crashingly dull?

harpsichordcarrier · 16/06/2008 16:16

yes it is expensive
it is so lovely though, and a beautiful fabric
I think I may look like a terrible frump in it
I Long for a dress like this though, that one doesn't have to think about

I prefer the sunflower or the rose print dress tbh.

Agree it is very expensive for an everyday type dress.

its one of those dresses you need to be v good looking to pull off, any average woman would look quite frumpy
imo

i guess the old saying of you can't polish a turd is true in this case !

choosyfloosy · 16/06/2008 16:34

You could carry it off. But have to say I think you could do better tbh.

God perhaps not. I've just returned from a quick trip to agnes b, nicole farhi and french connection and my considered opinion is that the first appears to have died of boredom, whereas the two last have lost the plot entirely. I'm getting old...

Just in case you fancy the safari route

milkgoddessmakesthefinestmilk · 16/06/2008 16:40

btw im not calling you a turd, im just saying average looking women.

harpsichordcarrier · 16/06/2008 19:13

I think my boobs are too big for a safari dress tbh

I have a vintage dress of the same shape but in velvet and it is really flattering if you're an hourglass. Why not try it on and see?

brimfull · 16/06/2008 19:31

agree with poster who said you'd need to have prefect figure and striking good looks to carry such a dress off

WelliesAndPyjamas · 16/06/2008 19:32

to me it's part granny and part ickle girl but I'm sure some people could carry it

theStallionOfSensibleness · 16/06/2008 19:32

theStallionOfSensibleness · 16/06/2008 19:32

EffiePerine · 16/06/2008 19:38

last one not good with large norks

AlistairSim · 16/06/2008 19:40

Yee-Hah!

There must be some good dresses out there that aren't so expensive they require you to sell a kidney and have major lipo to look anything other than a sack of fat eels.

If anybody finds one, please let me know.

FeelingEvil · 17/06/2008 18:34

I'm afraid it's crashingly dull.

choosyfloosy - I was toying with the idea of a trip to agnes b but worried my agnes days are over being mother to a one year old.
