Nonwired soft bra for bigger chested women?

Has anyone tried those Shapermint-type bras that keep popping up online, are they actually any good?

I’m a 34E and if I don’t wear a padded, plunge, underwired bra I instantly look really matronly and about a size bigger. But I’m so fed up with wires.

All the non-wired bras I’ve tried so far give me the dreaded mono-boob and zero shape. Has anyone found one that gives a bit of lift/definition? Happy to look at other brands if there are better options available.

I have huge breasts and suffer with Fat necrosis ( non cancerous large painful cysts) . I swear by snag bras.. they are so comfy and hand on heart hold you up and in. ( measure yourself according to their chart) l get the ribbed full cup.. two black two beige.. .. thats all l need. Lasted me 4 years so far.. not gone out of shape or anything. I do wash by hand.. no tumble dryer.. but my friend uses washing machine n tumbler and says hers are just like new.. l cannot recommend them enough ( ive tried Molke and lemonade and contoured.. not the same and no support).

WildFlowerBees · 26/02/2026 06:06

I wear the M&S flexifit bra, doesn’t give mono boob, supportive and so comfortable I’m a 32E and won’t go back to wired bras ever.

Celeste Dor Curve is the other I keep getting

I tried this one. I’m a 32FF, I I was very sceptical that it would be any good but I was amazed at how good and comfortable it actually is. Would I wear it with a formal dress for a black tie? No. But for every day under a t shirt or to work it’s my go to. I have a few now.

I really like Body and Bra this one
https://www.bodyandbra.com/products/supportive-comfort-bra?variant=49496941920599

Molke were uncomfy made me feel
lopsided and definitely not a good shape, hard to get on and off, definitely wouldn't recommend.

This one looks good but the size guide for my 38 FF says I need a 2XL which is usually a size 18 and I wear a 14 in tops.
I’ve been looking for years for a non wired comfortable bra that doesn’t give shelf bosom or screw up around the rib cage. Have spent so much but feels impossible. I wear sports bras mostly now.

Thatnameistaken · 26/02/2026 06:44

I wear these in a 34G, I find them supportive and comfortable with plenty of coverage and no monoboob.

Molke - and I have tried all the others- spent a fortune on Bras I don’t wear.

Gettin a Molke bra on is akin to putting a straight jacket on. It’s the only bra I have to step in and pull up!

but it is worth the struggle- the minimiser effect is astonishing.

I’ve been planning to try Molke, but I hadn’t heard they are minimising? I don’t really want to look smaller, just have gentle shaping support. Can you, or other Molke wearers, tell me more?

Molke looks like it will be similar to my favourite Royce bra which is sadly sold out in my size (image attached). I don’t find that minimising, if I’m understanding correctly what minimising is.

I opted for the Conturve one and sure enough doesn’t give me the shape at all like the models in pictures and online. I can only assume the fuller models have fake breasts or have been gifted with gravity defying full breasts.

I get a lovely shape in padded plunge under wire, but I’m not convinced these nonwire ones can do it with natural breast tissue at my size, they just seem to squish the breasts to the side which gives a horrible matronly shape, I don’t want to be minimised, I want to be lifted.

I have to say it’s definitely the best I’ve tried and sufficient for WFH home, but am conceding that there is a reason for wires to exist!

You need to wear padded. At 34E?!

Yep, it’s not about adding volume, it gives a nice shape. Learned this as a teenager when I HATED my breasts, I was trying to wear minimisers to strap them down and they made me look fat and old. Tried on the complete opposite and found while it doesn’t hide them, it gave them a youthful shape and me a silhouette.

As I say without a structured cup my breasts just go to the sides which looks awful.

I also like that people can’t tell if I’m cold 🤣

i get a lot of shape from M&S flexifit with moulded cups. these ones (although I have the F plus range, I’m between an E and F depending on the bra)

https://www.marksandspencer.com/flexifit-non-wired-full-cup-bra-a-e/p/clp60439504

the other type to try is max support sports bras like Shock Absorber. Lots of lift and structure without wires.

ETA admittedly probably not the same kind of shape you’d get from a padded plunge underwired. But neither of the above are minimising or mono boob for me.

In the hunt for a good non underwired bra for larger boobs, you do have to kiss a lot frogs, but there are good ones out there - what suits you personally will be a hunt. Do also check out Royce. Non wired specialists, their Maisie bra maybe?

molke do give great shape

Do you not find them hard to get on and off? At one point I thought I was stuck in mine and would have to cut myself out of it!

How can you be in a size 14 top with 38FF boobs? I’m a 38F and a size 20 on a good day!

ShyKoala · 05/03/2026 22:15

Try this it goes up to a H cup & gives a nice shape under t'shirts. Very comfortable I now have 4. www.marksandspencer.com/flexifit-non-wired-crop-top-f-/p/clp60728007?color=WHITE

I have found shapermint to be the best bras I’ve ever had. Really comfy and no problem at all returning if the size is wrong. I would recommend.

Because I bet she isn't a 38... . I am a 12/14 with 32HH. All tit, no back.

BuffaloCauliflower · 06/03/2026 09:17

34E is not at all a large size, only 6 inches bigger over bust than the rib cage, so if you think you have large boobs the issue with the bra might be that you’re not buying the right size.

This is an entirely unhelpful comment. Semantics. It’s too large a size for unsupportive bras. I’ve been this size pretty much since I was 15 (regularly measured, yes have done the 30F thing as well, didn’t like it) I’m
not saying they are comically huge, but they are a size that if I wear the wrong shape of bra I look and feel hideous. I play sports and what I’d give for a smaller size.

I don’t know what you’re trying to gain from this comment other than to get into some kind of boob swinging contest.

@mel78y5 does the conturve have a gore that sits between your boobs?
I've put on weight and swear most of it is on my chest, even I the coldest weather I'm sweating in between, they stick together and really hurt when I separate them!
I've been for a bra fitting, got an underwired bra which is lovely for when I'm upright, but as soon as I'm lounging (slouching) about it's really uncomfortable.

Sort of, there is a bit of fabric gap but it doesn’t create the same separation it does in a wired bra.
