Useless at hair but want waves.

So similar to the other recent post where the OP really struggles to curl her hair and lots have suggested tymo curl pro, I have tried everything to get gentle waves into my hair and it just doesn't work.

Products are tricky as I have a sensitive scalp that needs properly dried with the hair dryer after each wash or it comes up in big itchy flakes. Do things like merwave, only curls and the scrunch method have not worked.

I think I will likely have to do something with already dry hair.

Can anyone suggest something very simple and easy for someone who really struggles to do anything other than straighten?

Curling tongs?

Beachwaver ?

If your hair is not naturally curly, tongs are the only thing that will work, or curling with straighteners. It takes loads of practice to DIY!

I’ve just posted this on the other thread which might help you. I’ve always been terrible at hair and bought so many tools and products that I couldn’t make work for me.

What worked for me was giving up on curls and embracing the slightly messy, bendy waves look (Alexa Chung style). I bought a GHD Curve wand cheaply on Vinted and some heatproof gloves from Amazon. It works best on day old hair or after applying some texture spray (I have very fine, slippy hair but lots of it). First of all I wrap sections of hair in one direction, then I go back around and fill in the gaps wrapping in the other direction. Shake it out, spray with Cool Girl spray.

Thanks to all who have responded currently trialing dressing gown waves, but will work my through the suggestions.

I was struggling to get good curls (I have fine hair). The GHD creative curl wand is amazing. It heats up super quickly and has a tapered end for natural looking curls. They last all day, too.
I got mine from Vinted for about £45.
Make sure you use a dry heat protector spray (I really like the VO5 one).
The best method I found is to put the wand behind the hair. So, if you’re curling the left side of your hair, hold the wand in your right hand, come behind your head and wrap the hair around it. Swap for the other side. I only have to hold my hair around the wand for around 10-12 seconds for a lovely curl.

I use a Tony and guy deep barrel waver. I've tried all sorts of gadgets and this is the only one I can use.
