New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

I’ve just popped on the decree serum and looking forward to inspecting the results tomorrow.

Thelifeofawife · 10/02/2026 22:21

Thanks @OvaHere for the Laneige moisturiser promo. I’ve not tried this yet but I’ve liked their other products that I’ve tried. I got the 50ml pot and 50ml refill, then when I went to checkout it gave me another 10ml pot for free - and I had £5 credit, so I’ve got 110ml for approx £28!

They also have the YSL blush on LF offer. Annoyingly, the Stardust Love that I originally wanted but was unwilling to pay the extra £10 in Debenhams for, is on offer at LF with 25% off! But now I’ve decided that Nude Lavalliere is more suitable for me, which doesn’t have as big a discount! 🫠 I think I’ll hold off and let someone gift it to me for my upcoming birthday instead

OvaHere · 10/02/2026 22:44

@Thelifeofawife that Laneige was a great deal. I didn't buy it as water creams tend to be a bit lightweight for me and I've already got loads of moisturiser to wade through. Tempting though.

IlovePond · 10/02/2026 22:51

I agree @OvaHere - I had to have a stiff word with myself - especially as I have £5 credit with LF that would have brought it down to just over £26 with the discount code added!

However I have pots of stuff to use up already.

Great deal, though!

user593 · 10/02/2026 22:53

I cracked for the Laniege deal 😑 I’ve not tried it but I’m using the Cica Sleep Mask (old formula) at the moment which I love. I’m in need of good, simple moisturisers to soothe after laser hair removal and to alternate with retinol which I’ve just started.

Fillybuster · 10/02/2026 23:09

@LoveLabradors I’m considering buying it for my DSis bday - will report back if I do!

My JL order arrived today. Apart from a tiny handful of shredded paper in one corner, there was no packaging at all in the Rejuvenate box: everything was rattling around loose (individual items also not packed) and the AA oil had leaked all over everything.

Did anyone else receive it like that? Seems very unusual for JL, and would have been an awful gift if intended for anyone else. Disappointing, even when it’s just for me. Everything else present and correct, and looking forward to getting stuck in.

I’ve broken out in spots, not sure if it’s the KS serum or the Bioessence oil, as started both at the same time. Will give both a break for a couple days, apply differin, and then try one at a time!

LouScot · 10/02/2026 23:12

Does anyone have any recommendations for an amazing body lotion that works well on the bust? I know lotions don't work to magically make you 21 again, but after losing weight last year (still got a fair bit to go..) I really need something to at least help my skin firm up a bit.

Any ideas welcome, cheaper end of scale particularly welcome as I have a lot of body still 😂

IlovePond · 10/02/2026 23:29

@Fillybuster - I hope you are able to contact JL CS to complain - leaking oil is not acceptable.

@IlovePond yup - have reported. Was curious to see if just unlucky or if packaging might have been missing - maybe a return or something?

I love the cica mask. I'm nearly finished with a tub. I bought 2 more of the old formula as I wasn't happy about the reformulation. I will eventually give the new one a go when I've run out.

Yes the last edit I bought from JL was like that. Their packaging is really shoddy for a fairly high end retailer. It was a different edit but I also had a leak and a candle was all chipped. I think I was offered a return or a partial refund of £6. I took the partial refund.

I also bought an expensive lipstick from them and it came in the most flimsy (barely) padded mailer envelope which meant the lipstick box was all crushed.

Really shoddy when you compare to the excellent packaging from Selfridges. They would never sling a Ltd ed Chanel lipstick in a really cheap envelope.

I am a bit wary of buying beauty items from them now unless it's a bargain worth the risk.

The tiny bit of shredded paper is standard so it's unlikely to be a return. A number of us were complaining about it on a thread pre xmas when those edits first came out.

Thelifeofawife · 11/02/2026 00:43

Yes I recall there were some issues with oil leaking in the JL boxes. I have been really lucky with all of the beauty boxes I’ve bought from them, but as with the others, there was only a bit of shredded paper in a corner of the box, and one of mine came in a plastic bag rather than an outer box, so the beauty box was a bit bashed - I would have been very annoyed if it had been intended for a gift. Others arrived in a proper box, with thick bubble wrap.

It doesn’t put me off buying from them as they offer some great bargains. But I’d be wary if I was gifting something

OvaHere · 10/02/2026 19:44

Oh that's a shame about the VBB. Hope you get it sorted.

They have said to contact them again on Friday if it still hasn’t arrived.

I did end up watching a video on the new Viseart Apricotline palette and as it is in the sale I ordered it as still cheaper than buying from Beautylish even with the crazy postage.

I also ordered some Rephr eye brushes so excited to try them when they arrive. I am loving my Sonia G and will keep my eye out for a small brush set for her too.

@LouScot I use This Works neck and cleavage which is nice

Boots have launched a new Future Renew Body range this morning. It's 3 for 2 and I got an email code REVERSE15 for £15 off. There's a body serum, neck serum and hand cream.

Can't say if they work but maybe?

I've bought the Boots neck serum with the £15 discount and had enough points to cover the cost.

We shall see if it does anything. My current neck cream is not far from empty.

The Boots 24 days of Beauty AC is still in stock for £70 - Boots points showed as £5.95 worth when I added it to my basket (not purchased though). I'm not sure that any codes stack with it.

The Klarna app also gives 7% Boots cashback (£4.90) - so with points and cb the true girl math cost is £59.15 🙂

Ooh, thanks @OvaHere . I'll check that out this morning.

LoveLabradors · 11/02/2026 09:34

@Doglover73 your pup is just stunning!

TragicMuse · 11/02/2026 09:38

I NEEEEEEED a dopamine hit! But nothing is catching my eye. I just think of my stash and lose the spark of fun.

I think I’ve broken myself!!

Doglover73 · 11/02/2026 10:13

@TragicMuse
Im exactly the same. 🙄😬

IlovePond · 11/02/2026 10:18

@Doglover73 - he’s so beautiful!

Mine actually let me cuddle him for five minutes on Monday when DH, (aka the ‘love object’), was out. Normally I just get the ‘backside of disappointment’ aimed in my direction, so it was a special day!

IlovePond · 11/02/2026 10:23

Well, my ‘umming and ahhing’ over the Boots Stackers stuff has ended, as the deal and discounts have been removed from my basket!

Just as well - I really can’t bring loads more beauty products into the house!
