Lines and saggy lower face help!

annonymousnamechange · 03/02/2026 00:49

Ive just had to take a selfie to ID myself so I couldn't pull my usual trick of taking my glasses off and convincing myself im not looking bad. And it was horrible! Bad marionette lines and nasolabial folds with a saggy chin line. I know this is shallow and im lucky to be ageing but is there anything I can do to help these? Rapidly approaching 60 and could do with loosing a stone plus. Wil anything help other than just looking at myself as a blur????

I am the same. I’ve been looking at those one stitch mini face lifts in London, supposed to be done within 1 hour.

HUNGRY4MORE · 03/02/2026 01:23

Following with interest as I feel your pain, too.

Blueskiesnotgrey · 03/02/2026 01:24

same, what are these miracle facelifts?

LaBelleSauvage123 · 03/02/2026 08:10

Oh gosh me too! Following with interest.

I had a little Botox just under the corners of my mouth. Did it the same time as my usual forehead Botox. It relaxed the muscles enough to lift my mouth and smooth out the marionette lines.

Nothing is worse than looking at yourself in a selfie. Poor lighting, still rather than animated, dodgy angle. Think about your friends of a similar age, fo you judge them as harshly as you judge yourself? I guarantee not. Also weight loss at our age is probably the worst thing you can do as it compounds sagging in the face. After 2 years of honing my diet and exercise plan I'm thrilled with my body but my face is looking tired. Hrt, retinol, vitamin C SPF and a good cream blush all help. eyebrows as thick as possible with a good shape too. Surgery isn't for me.

WhiskyandWater · 03/02/2026 08:59

Look in to HIFU, it’s given me my jaw line back and lifted my whole face. Non invasive and no downtime.

annonymousnamechange · 03/02/2026 21:25

Oh wow, so a few people feeling the same. No miracle solutions tho! I'll look into HIFU @WhiskyandWater did it take many sessons did it take for you to see a difference?

What’s HIFU please?

I got noticeable results after one session, it takes up to 3 months to see full impact. I’ll probably have a second session but it’s been miraculous.
@Wellnowlookhere it’s a high intensity frequency ultrasound, so non invasive. Not cheap but nowhere near the cost of surgery.

annonymousnamechange · 04/02/2026 23:40

@WhiskyandWater that sounds amazing! Can i ask how you found someone and if there are any red flags or particular things you should look out for? Just checking how you know someone's legit! Thanks

I got a recommendation from a trusted friend, but if you look on the tweakments guide website there are recommended legitimate practitioners on there.

BooseysMom · 05/02/2026 07:08

I like the sound of HIFU but don't think I can justify the cost. I have horrendous jowls which both my parents had. DM used to tell me to do face muscle exercises while driving (stopping when someone else approaches!!) I hate the fact I'm losing my jawline. 😢

HUNGRY4MORE · 05/02/2026 11:24

I was advised that botox wouldn't help, you'd need filler in the cheeks to lift the skin/ plump it up and that would get rid of the lines/ jowls around the mouth.

I've not had it done because I worry about ending up with that hamster cheek look.

@WhiskyandWater don't suppose by a miracle you're in the north West are you?

Sadly not, but do look at the Tweakments guide. Alice Hart Davies who writes on it is all over this and hugely advocates for regulation, so you’ll be able to trust the recommendations.

Collagen serum twice a day and foods that promote collagen production
I don’t have lines wierdly even fine ones under the eyes which I’m guessing is down to wearing high spf most of my life, never sunbathing and never pulling my eyes about for contacts and makeup but tbh I really have no idea. Im 59
I am however starting to get that saggy jowel look. I’ve been using an inexpensive ( Aldi) Collagen serum for a few months and it’s definitely had a tightening effect.

Id recommend giving it ago
