Unicorn of Coats? Stylish, yet practical snow coat

Hi all,

I am looking for what seems is the unicorn of coats - but I reckon you all have the inside knowledge that I am looking for.

About 10 years ago I bought the most perfect coat for cold weather from A.P.C. I paid too much money for it at the time, even in the sale, but it still looks good now and it has been worth the cost overall… But a decade in, I think I probably should be looking for another.

My A.P.C. coat is very warm, has pockets (many in fact, including hand warmer pockets), is water resistant (admittedly not waterproof) and has a hood… But coupled with all that, is stylish and has ‘a bit more’ about it. It’s a perfect snow/bitter weather coat.

I can’t spot anything similar on A.P.C. currently - it seems like this type of coat is not a usual for them.

Please could I ask for suggestions of where I might find something comparable? I am willing to pay decent money (especially for a sale) but not mega money.

Could you maybe put it on a hanger and take a photo of it ?
There are many people on here that are great at finding the ' one ' but a pic might help .
I can only suggest you look at the Didriksons range .

If there’s nothing wrong with it, why do you need to replace it. I still wear a Patagonia jacket that is coming up to 26 years old, because it’s perfect for what I need and was expensive quality that lasts.

@FrostyFlo

It doesn’t have to be the same in terms of appearance, it’s more about its functional components (mainly hood and water resistant) + warmth + stylish.

I do really like Didriksons. I bought one for my husband for his most recent birthday. But, because of that, I’m feeling a bit like it’s maybe a bit weird for us to both wear a coat from the same brand (perhaps I’m being silly/unreasonable with that).

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads I think it’s probably a bit of chat like this that I need, too. Do I need to replace it? I’m not sure!

Love the sound of you Patagonia workhorse.
