00s over plucked eyebrows

Those who were unfortunate enough to do the 00s overplucked eyebrows… what are you doing with them now? Can I buy a serum or something to try and save them and miraculously grow them back? Or what beauty treatments should I consider?

I have over plucked 80s brows , thinning due to menopause & grey hairs! Delightful. I get them dyed and in between if I don't get them done often enough I use eyebrow mascara (better than a pencil as it picks up the invisible little hairs.
Tempted to try the minoxidil though.

Micro bladed five years ago. No top up has been needed. Worth every penny.

Can any one answer how it's possible to pluck our eyebrows into oblivion but chin hairs reemerge constantly

SparrowFeet · 29/01/2026 21:17

Go for nano brows over micro blading - it's much softer and less likelihood of the ink bleeding and making them look splotchy. Nano brows just looks like you've filled in your brows.

Mine grew back in a bit in lockdown, which surprised me, so I use serum to help fill in the blanks and have laminate brows done at the eyebrow booth - makes them look much fuller.
on between I use eyebrow pencil and brush and home dye

TricNorthCarolina · 29/01/2026 21:25

I have had microblading & use eyebrow dye every 3 weeks. My eyebrows now look amazing - well worth the money

The Opti Laboratory stuff works, but you'd need to keep using it. And I guess not be completely bald already. It's about £100 a tube, lasts me 4 or 5 months though.

I had a huge unibrow as a teenager. Waxed for many years and ended up with a nice shape. Lost all my hair through chemo and worried that my real brows would grow back. They didn't, they came back exactly as I'd waxed & plucked them over the years. Then recently they've really thinned (age/peri). I started using a brow serum and they've very quickly thickened again. But, only to where they were when they grew back - not back to the original unibrow. So, in my experience brow serums are excellent for aging/thinning brows but nothing will bring back the ones that have been fully removed back in the 00s

MidnightMeltdown · 29/01/2026 22:35

Overplucked mine in the 00s and they still grew back! Stubborn bastards!

Periperi2025 · 29/01/2026 22:36

I've just been playing around with Gemini and chatGPT photo editing asking them to microblade my eyebrows, once they toned down there initial attempts it was a definite improvement to my face. I do think it might be worth the expense and pain.

Eyebrow pencil works for me but I still think if I had to choose, I'd go for the over plucked look than the massive slugs above the eye look that seems to be popular today!

Are you the mean girl at my high school who told me MY eyebrows looked like slugs by any chance?!

I hadn't even realised I had eyebrows until someone said that to me - it cut to the quick and I promptly went to town with the tweezers!

Decades later I am still pencilling in the fallout!

If you’ve lost the outer ‘tail’ of the brow that can indicate an underactive thyroid. Mine didn’t come back until I was on sufficient and correct meds.

Beard dye has been a revelation. The brow dyes I’ve tried fade or wash off quickly but beard dye doesn’t shift at all.

Overtheatlantic · 31/01/2026 01:23

Microblading then waxing and tinting every 6 weeks to keep them tidy. It’s made a big difference for my late 50s face.

True!

Nano brows here. I had already tried most of the brushes, dyes etc mentioned upthread but my eyebrows were just too thin and patchy.

i honestly wish I’d gone for PMU years ago. They look so natural, I get comments that I look younger and more ‘done’, I do absolutely nothing to my brows now and have given away all those brow products that made no difference!

it wasn’t that painful, just a bit scratchy initially before the numbing gel worked.
I liked them so much that I got my eyeliner done too!
