M&S slips

I want to get one of the M&S full slips to wear under summer dresses. I wear half slips under skirts, but don't want the obvious line round my middle with a dress.

Does anyone wear these, and could tell me which length would be suitable for a calf-length midi dress? I don't understand the length, as they are the same lengths as the half-slips, but I don't know if they are measured from the straps/ side seam/ waist/ etc. I'm 5'6" (or 169cm) for reference.

Thanks in advance!

The full slips are measured from the waist. I ordered one and was confused too - a google search came up with the answer and it was correct.

You'd think that M&S would state where the measurement is taken from as it's far from obvious.

Hope this helps

That's great, thank you so much!

Not an answer to your question but why do retailers insist on such shit pictures. There should have been at least one picture of the model standing straight so you can see where the bottom of the slip sat on her as well as listing her height. But instead they've given a close up of the top part (fair),her curled up (totally unhelpful) and what would have been the most helpful picture is cropped so you can't see if the slip ends just after the pic or goes all the way down to her knees.

Not as bad as Zara's model poses but surely it's just common sense!

Very true, and only one slip is shown (without saying which length it is), when there are multiple different length options to choose from. I would have liked a side by side comparison of the different lengths.

Thanks @Feelingthebreeze. This is for a strappy summer dress which clings, even without tights, so the slip helps to prevent that. I thought it was cotton, but it's polyester, hence the cling! But I love the pattern so I will persevere!
