Luxury cardholder recommendations

Hi all,

I am looking to treat myself to a high-quality card holder. I know there are plenty of options out there, but I am specifically looking for one that can hold at least four cards and will last a long time. The cardholder doesn't necessarily have to be "designer," but I do want something that looks nice and will hold up well, as I'll be taking it to work and using it regularly when I'm out and about.
I know Goyard cardholders are extremely popular at the moment and are said to be good quality, but I'm not really a fan of the design, and I feel they are too common.

My budget will be around £300
Thank you.

It doesn't have a flap, but I have this YSL one and it has worn really well. I've used it every day for over 2 years and chuck it in and out of my bag. Purchased it from flannels when they had an offer on.

@sammyvine You’ll be paying for the name with all the card holders mentioned. That’s just the nature of designer goods. I’ve heard Mulberry quality has gone down in recent years but don’t own any Mulberry myself. Hopefully someone who has one will come along and comment! 😊

I have heard the exact same thing as well!
I used to have a Mulberry Wallet and I wasn't impressed tbh
So in your opinion, which cardholder would you recommend for me?

I love my Aspinal card holder and it still looks classic and brand new but it's not the style OP is looking for. I have a Prada handbag I've had at least 25 years and it's still holding up - you can't tell it's Prada unless you look really carefully at the engraving on the buckle which is why I love it.

It seems Prada's quality actually matches the expensive price!

Not a card holder but I have a Mulberry Darley purse (so pretty similar). I've had it for about 2 years now, and looks as good as new, even the hardware. Gets chucked in whatever handbag/rucksack I'm using that day.

I have this one, bought in 2020 and gets flung into all my bags and still looks like new. Holds 4 cards with a middle slip for paper receipts.

I've got a Mulberry purse that gets chucked around on a daily basis and into whatever bag I'm using... it's 3 years old and still looks as good as the day it arrived. I'm very impressed - I've also got a Bayswater bag and that's just aging beautifully.

@sammyvine I’m actually eyeing this one now that I recommended you but I definitely have enough card holders and wallets! 😅

Are you anywhere near a Prada? If I were you I’d probably try and see them in person/ test out how many cards they hold. In my experience the saffiano leather holds up better than anything I’ve ever owned. Failing that I’d go with the LV canvas (if you don’t mind it being a bit bling) or Celine canvas (less recognisable, more understated). I imagine they are similarly hard wearing (and similar to the Goyard you mentioned).

The Mulberry looks nice and super practical but I’d just worry a bit about the leather.

Is that for ladies? Looks like a mens wallet?

Thanks for your recommendations!
Do you use any special type of cleaner, like a leather cleaner to keep the cardholder looking good?

@sammyvine I’ve never cleaned the Prada. Canvas I clean with Handbag Clinic Leather Cleaner (even though it’s not leather) and I’ve also used their Leather Protection Cream on some of my leather bags. I just polished the metal on some of my LV items with brass cleaner. I’m not precious about my things though and don’t do much maintenance!

CantThinkofaNam · 05/02/2026 14:19

I have the Mulberry one, had it for 2 years and it looks brand new. Holds a good few cards too

Oh okay thank you!
I am going to decide between the Prada, LV and Mulberry!
