Getting married in March, no idea what to wear.

Help! DP and I are (finally, after 20+ years together) getting married in March. It’s something we have always intended to do, just never seemed the right time. We’ve not told many people, as we don’t want a big fuss, so it’s not a big event, but I would like to look nice.

I’ve no idea what to wear. I certainly don’t want to go all out in a big wedding frock. I do sometimes wear a dress, but tend more towards lovely tops/jackets and nice trousers for when I get dressed up. I also have a dodgy foot, so tend to wear flats or pretty trainers rather than any high heels or pointed toes (it’s the pointed toes that cause me the biggest issue).

Im also an odd shape to dress, I’m wide across my shoulders (and have biggish boobs), but also apple shaped to a degree. My tops are usually size 16-18, whilst my trousers are a size 14. I’m in my early 50s. I hate wearing anything really clingy. Does anyone have any suggestions at all? Thanks.

^ What a weird and painfully obvious advert 😂

Thanks. I like the jacket, but isn’t available in my size, I’m not sure if I’m a jumpsuit kind of woman, I feel it might highlight my belly too much.

WTF??? Pretty sure I’d get arrested if I rock up to my wedding service (which is the only thing this post is about) in some kinky knickers and little else🙄🙄 Definitely wouldn’t make me feel amazing😂

Congratulations!

You could start by browsing a multi-brand site like

https://www.collagerie.com/en-gb/collections/shop-the-occassionwear-edit

and see which brands appeal to you. (They cover prices from High St to haute couture.) Then look up their individual sites to see their full ranges. Spend some time considering any and everything - there’s no need to race to the first thing suggested!
