Are Esska sandals as comfy as I've heard?

I need shoes for an important summer wedding but I'm not good with heels. I like the look of these but wonder if a) they'll be really comfy and b) if they're a bit middle-aged Mum 😳

I had them for my own wedding (I was 30 so hope I didn't look middle age mum!) - they were so comfy. They're also made in Portugal so you know the workers will be paid fairly.

Yes, they really are! I definitely don't think they are 'middle aged mum' at all...the colours and finishes are gorgeous and I feel it's more a seventies glam/disco vibe if anything, obviously depending on what you wear them with.

I have the chaza and I love the look of them but they
are so uncomfortable as I guess I need to size down half a size (which they don’t do). I went with my normal size and they were so loose, flopping about everywhere. So I went down a size and wore them to a wedding so cannot return and they pinched my feet so badly. They are really beautiful though.

Never heard of them but just had a look, I think my bank account might cry!

I have one pair of Esska sandals and they are the only pair of heels I've owned in about 10 years. They are definitely very wearable for long periods of time, even for someone who NEVER wears heels.

I got a pair of the Charlie at Christmas and at first I thought they would not be comfortable as the sole is firm but they are.
I got a second slightly different style from eBay they were about a third of the price but unfortunately too narrow. Rather than return them I sold them locally for the same price and a lady was happy to have some comfy shoes for a summer wedding.

Purpleandredandyellow · 16/01/2026 22:06

i bought the Charlie wide in platinum for my wedding reception (changed out of kitten heel to them). They are mid- height. lasted about 1.5 hours in them before needing to put trainers on. So not terrible but not so comfy that you could dance all night in them. I am over 40 though and won’t put up with much discomfort.

This. I binned all my heels during Covid and then needed a pair last year for a party. Bought Esska's and was on the dancefloor in them until about 2am and they were super comfy.

However - I’m not that enthused about putting them on again so that probably says a lot! I’ll probably end up selling on Vinted

CoastalGrey · 17/01/2026 20:15

I think Vinted may be the way to go! Thanks all 😊

They are GLORIOUS

Isabelle70 · 17/01/2026 21:35

They have a few pairs in the JL sale, I may have purchased the burgundy velvet half price that I do not need …
