Help me find a bra!!

I’m a 36H.

Im 51 and I don’t think I’ve ever had a comfortable bra. I’ve been through all the fittings possible including boob or bust and they have all settled on 36H so I’m confident that’s the right size

This will sound weird, but I have large ribs. I have some harmless cartilage growth on them which makes them protrude more than usual and so under wires really tend to sit on them and rub. I’m really starting to get sore underboobs from rubbing and sweating.
I’m looking for a non wired bra with support and hopefully in a natural fibre, the underwire just makes everything uncomfortable for me.

Have you tried Bravissimo?

Yes. They fitted me with an underwire. It irritates in the same way as my other bras.

Another vote for honeylove. Their marketing is nauseating but their bras are so comfortable and give you decent shape too. I bought several in different sizes to try, the returns are quick.

Sweetiedarling7 · 14/01/2026 08:37

I am a 36GG/H too.
Non wired the best options I have found are M&S flexifit or Body & Bra comfort bra. You would need their size 2xl for the cup size. I do find the band could be a bit tighter ideally but on the smallest hooks it’s ok and it is definitely the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. Better than the M&S one.

Sweetiedarling7 · 14/01/2026 08:40

@MakemineaGandT @olderbutwiser Honeylove only seem to go up to an F cup?

LadyAvgeek · 14/01/2026 10:23

I've been looking at those jelly bras as fed up with poor fit of underwired ones. I'm 38F as like coverage but find even the "names" don't guarantee comfort. Gave up on M&S years ago due to poor sizing. Getting ads in my Instagram (on tablet) for Honeylove but felt they're expensive. May give them a try....

Freda69 · 14/01/2026 10:33

You could try Pour Moi - if you email them they will give you advice on which bra would fit you best. (I’ve never found anything that fits me in M&S).

SwallowsandAmazonians · 14/01/2026 10:36

I have a good one in an H from M&S which isn't wired and is called Flexifit. Not natural materials I don't think, but very comfortable and supportive.

KatharinaRosalie · 14/01/2026 10:42

people either love them or hate them, but the only non-wired natural material bra that actually gave me decent support at G cup was Molke.

HollyAndIvyEtc · 14/01/2026 10:53

I've another vote for the M&S Flexifit non-wired, full cup bra in the F-H range. It's the only sort I wear and I find it very comfy.

I’m a 36G and my life changed when I started wearing Triumph Doreen bras. I was 36H then.

I took my VERY top heavy MIL to Rigby and Peller's - next to Harrods however, think they now have more branches outside London. I'd first discovered them because had been measured incorrectly by John Lewis and M&S and was surprised to find I had a bigger cup size but smaller back. They first ask your expectations / requirements. Once in (un) dressing room you had remove top half of clothing obviously including Bra - no tape measures involved! They would assess size by eye and bring a few different branded bras to try. I bought two for MIL as Christmas presents (not cheap) but she was so thrilled at comfort and fit she bought another herself.

Also looking at the photos, the fit isn’t good on some of the models. Several look as though the cup is too small and they’d have visible overspill under clothing.

Seelybee · 14/01/2026 12:38

@Menonut I had exactly the same with Bravissimo. Felt ok in the store but couldn't wear it after a couple of hours. They have loads of choice for larger busts if you can cope with underwires but basically nothing if not.

I went to Rigby & Peller about 20 years ago and got the same advice about smaller band and larger cup.
I bought two Royce bras which lasted for years (good job as not cheap!) but they were underwired as I could still just about tolerate them then.
It was a bit of a shock to have to take my bra off in front of the sales lady!

LoveSandbanks · 14/01/2026 18:07

Honestly, I didn't wear a comfortable underwired bra until I started making them myself!

I realise this isn't possible for most, nor is it affordable for most people to commission "made to measure" bras but the number of different types of underwire available to the independent maker means that there is an underwire that will fit everybody comfortably.

I have flared ribs and a slight pectus excavatum, but even I can now wear an underwired bra all day and not rip it off with relief when I get home!

firstofallimadelight · 14/01/2026 18:27

Honey love are so comfy and your boobs dont ache when you take it off

Thank you. Was it massively expensive? I’ve only heard of Rigby and Pellor as they used to fit the Queen.

Exactly the same. I’m ok for a bit but after a few hours I can’t wait to take it off!

My most comfortable bras are M&S flexi fit.
Not natural fibres, but very soft and smooth, no scratchy bits.
I seriously doubt the existence of a decently supportive and comfortable non wired bra in cotton, sadly.
