Comfortable and stylish summer sandals that are good for walking long distances?

Britpopbaby · 12/01/2026 07:25

I am thinking ahead to the summer in which I will be doing plenty of walking. I need something suitable with dresses and jeans and would like leather in a neutral colour.

Any suggestions of where to look?

The most comfortable sandals I've ever had are from Fly London.

Gettingbysomehow · 12/01/2026 07:27

I bought these because Im a wide half size. I don't like traditional walking sandals. I can walk for miles in these and ghey are super comfortable. Im leopard obsessed but you can get them in other colours.

Another vote for the Hotter Tourist. Also I haven’t tried leather Tevas, but the plain black Velcro-y ones are great.

I searched long and hard for comfortable, decent looking sandals. I find Birkenstocks ok but not the best for real day long comfort. My mum adores them though.

I have these ones from Blowfish Malibu in a dull gold and they are really comfortable and look nice enough for going out in the evening. They've also lasted well and still look good three years on. These were my "walking for hours" around Porto/Bologna/Florence sandals and I always felt quite stylish in them!

I bought these from Moshulu last year and they are very comfortable and look lovely with dresses/skirts etc. I I wear these a lot at work where I will regularly clock up over 25000 steps.

I also have these from Crocs which are like walking on air and don't really look too much like Crocs - they do tend to rub off any fake tan though! These are indestructible I reckon and will outlive me. I wear these a lot at work too.

I love my Merrell walking sandals, so much so that I bought a second pair in case they stop doing them not sure you'd consider them stylish though...

The Moshulu ones are the first fisherman's sandals that Ive liked the look of!

Merrell Kahuna. Not super stylish but comfortable

sweetsardineface · 13/01/2026 18:02

Another vote for Teva.

Iheartmysmart · 13/01/2026 18:03

I really like my Salt Water Boardwalk’s. I wasn’t too sure when they first arrived but they’ve never rubbed and have got more comfortable with age.

I also quite like my Trespass Kimbra but they don’t seem to have lasted very long. The lining has split and they seem to have stretched a bit so are now quite loose.

Another vote for the Hotter Tourist sandals, they are so so comfortable, I walked for over 4 hours in Lisbon and no sore feet at all! I have them on gold and white but have just seen them from other Poster in leopard print, I may have to buy!

I’ve got some - they’re comfortable and as supportive as footwear can be while remaining a sandal but they really are ugly in a non-funky way!😂

however I’ve long maintained that the worst thing for style is wearing shoes that cause your face to look pained or your stride to lack confidence so they win back a few points on that score I guess.

ZenZazie · 13/01/2026 18:20

Pikolinos

Wonderknicks · 13/01/2026 19:22

I've checked & mine are Merrell Harbour. They are a little less frumpy than some of their styles but not much! They are so comfy & supportive, though.

DecorMadness · 13/01/2026 19:51

Agree with @Tinseltrauma Fitflop Gracie are very comfortable. I’ve done miles in them and they are still in good shape. Think I’ll get them in another colour…

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 13/01/2026 20:02

Love my fitflop Gracie sandals and also saltwaters. Both great for my wide feet and incredibly comfortable. The saltwaters are more hard wearing but I still got 2 summers out of a pair of fitflops

BlackSheepThisYear · 13/01/2026 20:21

Saltwater boardwalks - I don’t get on with the original ones for long walks as they’re too flat. But the boardwalks live on my feet all summer. So comfy and great for lots of walking.

Fleur405 · 14/01/2026 13:55

I also like the saltwater boardwalk. Plan to get a second pair in gold (definitely not because I’m jealous of my 3 year old’s gold pair!).

Spangers · 14/01/2026 14:28

Love my Tevas, I have the mid form ones in sparky colours so they’re a bit more glam than the standard ones but I can walk for ages in them without rubbing or arch pain. I’ve suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past and it can get triggered by wearing really flat sandals but these are no problem. I’ll get another pair when these wear out.

CointreauVersial · 14/01/2026 14:36

Dammit, I shouldn't have clicked this thread! I became a bit of a Fit Flop fangirl last year, and now I want a pair of Gracies. I just know they will be super-comfortable.

My current walking sandals are cheapos from Mountain Warehouse. Stylish they are not.

minipie · 14/01/2026 14:44

Tevas here too. Or Air & Grace do some which are basically Tevas but a bit more stylish- I haven’t tried them though.

Diondra · 14/01/2026 16:36

Trespass Kimbra. Have a look at real life pics if you can - I saw some on Amazon reviews. They look more like walking sandals in the sales pics than they do IRL.

Moonlightfrog · 14/01/2026 20:09

I wear Teva and also have a pair of north face walking sandals which I walked miles in last year.
