Loose skin on jawline and neck

Pineappleice43 · 07/01/2026 13:06

I'm hoping someone may have advice as I have noticed the past 12 months that the skin on my jawline and neck is becoming loose/saggy. The shape of my jaw line has changed because of this and I have a double chin because my skin is loosing its firmness and elasticity. It's all I can see when I see my reflection, I especially hate seeing myself on zoom calls!

I'm 35, 5 foot 5 and 10 stone. I'm not overweight although I am trying to loose a bit of weight to feel more confident in myself and hoping it will help my face but I think this might be an ageing thing!

What can I do?! 😫

Moisturise! But mainly its the passage of time.

Quick response thank you. I am trying to moisturise lots and push my skin up rather than down. I'm only 35 🤦‍♀️

HIFU is amazing but pricey if you’re going the tweakment route.

It seems to stand out more when people are thinner, which is strange, but as you say since using Zoom, we tend to notice things like that more,. Especially people who have lost weight (it's not so much a thing on people who have always been slim, it seems, but you do tend to notice lines by the nose/mouth and the jowl issues you say on those who've lost weight). Some of them get some sort of fillers/surgery (including a school mum who always said the line about having to choose between your figure and face as you age) but I personally don't like that look, they look so different, and I wouldn't spend the time/money even if I didn't dislike the frozen/stretched look (no, not even if I could afford the Karshadian lift, if I'm thinking of the irght thing, which actually does seem more natural). But that's only my view and everyone has the right to do what they want.

I wouldn't go surgery route but wondered if there was a magic cream or a natural aesthetic treatment that may help. It's not hugely bad but I don't want it to get worse if I can help it. I don't have the best skin so the neck issue is knocking my confidence further x

In reality losing weight will make it worse, s if you aren’t overweight that might not be the best option.

Microneedling with polynucleotides. I’ve lost four stone and noticed I had a crepey neck. I had four sessions of the above and noticed such a difference (after two sessions). There is no magic cream, unfortunately. Keeping the skin hydrated does help, but it won’t firm the skin.

I agree with this, I love polynucleotides. Also look into exosomes and platelet rich plasma.
Possibly jawline filler to provide support,
and Botox, but impossible to say for sure without seeing you.

Hello everybody, I actually wanted to pop a little update in and tell you that I bought a lymphatic drainer face brush on a whim after seeing it online and it's actually working. The puffiness around my jaw line has reduced, as well my eyes too. I'm surprised it's worked and wanted to share. Xx

Thanks for the update, glad it's working. I'll try it myself!

If you have a little filler done properly, it makes a difference, but is not obvious. It’s only when it’s overdone that it looks awful.

I vowed never to have polynucleotides again after the horrible blebs which took days to subside. I was told this was normal. Expensive, and not long lasting either.

That’s interesting- have ordered one!

Prai is often quoted, but it’s just a moisturiser, and overrated imo.

I didn’t have any “blebs” (I assume you are referring to lumps?) As I had it with microneedling, the serum was put on the face and then microneedled in, so no lumps. I think you only get lumps when it’s injected? (Someone I know had this under the eyes recently and had lots of little lumps. Hers was injected).
