Advice please. I have been using hair removal cream on my moustache area since late teens - not an issue did it every week or 2 weeks no big deal. Now however, I am 50 and am having to do this as well as my beard area every couple of days. What is the best method of hair removal? Is there a permanent solution that will be successful and wont scar? Any advice gratefully received.

I pluck mine. But there's probably less than 100 of them including tache, and they don't all grow at once so it doesn't take long. Waxing is easy too.

I've done IPL in the past and that works well for the lower face (don't use around eyes). It works best if you have pale skin and brown hair.

Threading is good

I’m 54 and I’m getting more of them every week. I don’t have access to salon services, also a lot of them are coming through white now (my hair is still brown though) and I believe it doesn’t work on white hair.

So I pluck, most of them are very deep rooted and wiry so creams don’t work. There’s no way I’m letting them get long enough for waxing or epilating.

I gather shaving (dermaplaning) is popular now? I get instant stubble though, is it just for ‘peach fuzz’?

Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method.
Laser works on dark hair on lighter coloured skin, and is not permanent.
Waxing is a very good temporary solution.

I have v sensitive skin (so can't wax / veet) and a bit of a tash - have always just shaved it with a bic razor. No issues.

I would recommend an epilator (and taking a couple of paracetemol before first use).

The hairs really don't need to be very long for the epilator to pick them up. It's quick and thorough and gradually lessens regrowth.

I use a razor now as there are so many of them and they are so damned tough. It's a nightmare.

Why are the roots so strong? Some of mine are stronger than even my best tweezers (Tweezerman round tip).

Goodness only knows. I am halfway towards having a dratted beard at this point. It's awful.

I pluck the coarse ones... sometimes use the wax strips ...and also derma plane the peach fuzz....it's an endless chore

Try an IPL, Phillips do their’s on a monthly try before you buy scheme.
