Help me with my drab and dowdy very fine hair

I’m early 40s but I don’t think my hair has changed really - it’s always been fine and flyaway and always looks awful.
I see people with thick swooshy or curly hair and feel envious!

Mine is shoulder length now, better when shorter but I can’t afford to have it cut every four weeks. Maybe every eight weeks at a push. It is blonde and looks terrible.

Any advice for styles? I do not have a dainty pretty face, I have quite an ugly face with fat cheeks like a chipmunk so I’m not going to pull off pixie very well.

Or products. I’ve got a hair mask thing for it to try and make it look less meh but I’m not hopeful.

Thanks!

Olaplex no. 6 and no. 7 only 2/3 drops of the oil and a tiny cut of the cream, rubbed together in your hands then applied to damp hair before blow drying. I also use a heated brush after brow drying which helps smooth it all down.

Take a good hair supplement. Biotin plus something like pumpkin seed oil? Also massage with a scalp oil regularly.
You could try a bond repair system too, or a glossing product to add a bit of weight.

I’ve very successfully applied a small amount of tape slimline tape extensions to myself, just 2-3 on the sides . I colour matched myself and only apply half the “sandwich” (one side of the tape in) and put a blank tape on the other side. I trim them in myself. Looks great and I’ve managed to remove and replace them once already with no hair being pulled out at all. I got them and a special tool
from Milk & Blush. Just in case a bit of fullness around front and sides would help. I am now able to have shoulder length whereas before I could only have chin length.

I have very fine hair (albeit a lot of it). You need a really good cut, some light layering and if it takes a curl, agree with the hot curling brush after blow drying and a bit of hairspray.

I take a biotin supplement and use a shampoo and conditioner for volume, not expensive ones.

Colour wow dream cocktail carb infused serum- hairdresser used it on me and I use it regularly now to make hair look thicker and fuller. Use when drying hair with hairdryer - it’s amazing and makes a real difference.

Do you colour your hair, or are you naturally blonde? I think a darker colour gives a look of more density generally.

I was going to suggest short extensions for volume, but it is a financial commitment.

Yes, echo the colour wow dream cocktail. And some clip in extensions from foxy locks or similar. Not long, just say 14”, just do a bit of volume occasionally.
