flossing advice please

are there any dentists or dental hygienists out there who can advise on the use of water dental floss things - waterpix

Are they any good?? I've seen mixed messages about whether they are worthwhile. The adverts say yes (not surprising!!) but other things say they're okay but not nearly as good as floss.

Water jets do a great job with my wooden deck so I was expecting them to be at least as good on my teeth 😂

Thoughts & advise please

No dental expertise but recently got a Phillips power flosser and really like it. I have a partially erupted wisdom tooth and the power flosser is particularly great for cleaning around that. Not due at hygienist for a couple of months but will be interested to see if she comments that she has noticed any change in levels of inflammation or staining. Watching thread with interest for hopefully some expert comments.

I wondered about this for ages and eventually opted to try a cheap one and see how I went. I can see now that they’re hard to use, make a mess, soak everything, and also would be a nightmare to keep clean and avoid them getting smelly etc. So I just use normal floss and have worked hard to perfect my technique with that

Philips Sonicare for me. I did have a Waterpik at first but it only lasted a month before refusing to charge again.

The Philips Sonicare is far superior and much better quality as far as I can see. I use warm water to ensure that it doesn't trigger my sensitive teeth and gums.

I also use it with my mouth closed around it as that largely stops me shooting water everywhere (and all down myself).

I have partially erupted wisdom teeth on both sides and my dentist recommended the pic to me as a tool to try and keep the area clean. I'm on the waiting list to get them removed but until then the pic is doing it's job. I really like it too. My teeth feel fresher for it.
