Hair dryer/ styling help needed

I'd really appreciate some guidance.

I have very long, very thick hair with a natural curl at the front and wave at the back.

I haven't owned a hairdryer in over 10 years, so my hair is left to air dry which literally takes all day due to how much hair I have. I rarely put product in it unless I'm going out and want it to be curly. More recently, I tend to straighten it, and put in a loose curl towards the ends using my straighteners (this is a 2 day process as I have to wash it the day before so it will be fully dry before using straighteners!).

Due to the rarity of going out /using straighteners, my hair is in really good condition, however I'm fed up of having wet hair all day so I'm after a hair dryer/ styling tool, but one that won't cause (will cause minimal) heat damage.

I've seen Dyson, shark, babyliss etc and it seems such a minefield... and a potentially pricey minefield!

Can anyone recommend me a hair dryer/ combined styling tool that will allow me to: dry straight (with no frizz and minimal damage), or dry curly (either enhance my natural curl, or enable me to straighten roots then curl ends loosely). There are just too many options, and I'm struggling to work out what attachments etc i really need!

I don't really want to spend more than £250, however if the pricier makes are truly worth the extra, then I am prepared to spend more.

Thank you for any advice and guidance!

I think a Dyson Airwrap is well worth the cost. The newest one (Co-anda 2) is above your price limit but you might be able to get an older model for that price, especially now as there are sales on. I just comb out my hair after I get out of the shower then ignore it while I get dressed and put my make-up on. It then dries my hair straight in about five minutes using the smoothing brush attachment, I don't even need the straightening attachment. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and it's very long (waist length). I haven't tried the curl function yet.
