Has anyone used an LED face mask? I am thinking of buying one to improve my combination skin.
Does it increase collagen and improve skin complexion?
My main problems are pores, wrinkles, and dark shadows under my eyes. I also have melasma on my cheeks.
Should I spend more on face creams and lotions?

Open to suggestions and advice, thanks.

I'm not convinced they do anything. There are some studies suggesting they might, but e.g. Reverse skin aging signs by red light photobiomodulation - PMC Two of the authors of this study have financial links to the company producing the LED masks, so...

What do you already do? Do you eat lots of fruit and veg, drink water, avoid smoking and alcohol, use retinol and SPF?

Reverse skin aging signs by red light photobiomodulation - PMC

Photobiomodulation is a process by which the absorption of red light energy produces a series of physiological effects at the cellular level such as the enhancement of mitochondrial Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) production, cell signaling and growth ...

@owlpassport thanks for the reply.

I eat healthily, as I think the changes in my skin are due to peri. I have pale skin, so my pigmentation marks are more noticeable. I am not good with my skincare routine unless someone can recommend me a good skincare set that is easy to use.

My mum used Nivea throughout her life and her skin was better than mine when she was in her 50s.

I will read the articles you gave me.
Thanks.

I'd really suggest you start to build a skincare routine then and be consistent. It doesn't need to be expensive, look at The Ordinary, The Inkey List and Byoma for more budget options. At a minimum, vitamin C serum, moisturiser and SPF in the morning. Then cleanse every evening (essential if you're wearing SPF, and consider double cleansing), and a night cream. Once you've got used to this, consider adding an acid or a retinol. This will have a much bigger effect than an LED mask.

I think unless you go back to basis an LED mask is futile.
Perhaps you could share your skin type and regime and others maybe able to help.

I think they are a scam. I think good skin comes from within and good genes.
sleep, healthy eating, no drinking, fresh air and exercise. And Botox ☺️

do you use SPF (with high UVA protection not just UVB)?
have you tried a retinoid?
Eat balanced diet and reduce alcohol consumption

sorry if that sounds patronising but start there first
