Where to buy trendy and good quality clothes? (early 30s)

Hi all,

I'm fed up of buying relatively expensive clothes to discover they have polyester etc in them. I'm going to do a spot of new years shopping and want suggestions on where to shop. My style is simple - think jumper and jeans, heavyweight tshirts, pretty white blouses and the occasional dress or patterned trouser. I'm in my early 30s and I'm looking for brands I can try where things are going to be trendy but still made of natural fabrics, so please share them!

For those kinds of items, I like COS, Me & Em and J Brand for jeans. I would also suggest checking out the Net-a-Porter sale for eg Nili Lotan. The Joseph sale also a good shout for jumpers etc. in gorgeous fabrics.

Jigsaw maybe. Still plenty of polyester but the basic tops are normally cotton.

Mint Velvet?

Uniqlo for basics. Their Pima cotton t-shirts are fantastic quality for the price.

You can buy natural fabrics anywhere. Just filter online for cotton, silk, Cashmere, Wool on any shop/eBay/Vinted. I buy a lot of Cashmere from Tk Maxx & Rose & Rose boho cotton blouses from there too. I do agree with Uniqlo for good basics.
Cos are very well rated for cotton T's & Jaeger & Autograph have 100% cotton.

Most websites will have a section on the item listing which tells you the fabric composition of the item. I’m only mentioning this because it sounds from your post like you don’t know what fabric the item is made of until it arrives.

TheOGCCL · 29/12/2025 11:49

@roamingcat I’m a fair bit older than you but looking for the same and find I have to search all sorts of retailers for wool and cotton (I’ll do viscose too). But it is doable as the only polyester I have is the odd going out top.

Look in H&M, Mango, M&S, River Island, & Other Stories, Cos, Arket, Uniqlo. There is plenty of polyester dross in each of these, so you need to shop carefully and check the fabric composition, but that goes for any brand really. I don't have a Me and Em/NAP budget I'm afraid, but still manage to dress mainly in natural fabrics.

Sezane if you have a higher budget.

Thank you! I guess I've got a lot of browsing to do to find the quality pieces.

It all depends on your budget & taste really

I'm significantly older than you but love clothes & i buy from

Sezane
Ba&sh
Me+em
Reformation
Essential Antwerp
Sessun
Claudie Perloit
COS
Maje
Sandro

Other brands that often have interesting things

Noa Noa
Zadig & Voltaire
The Kooples

thats a good list! but if its just current looking trend you’re after you can always look on sites like ASOS on the materials tab and it will tell you the exact composition. Shouldn’t be a random surprise what you get.

lemonraspberry · 29/12/2025 17:12

Maybe try finesterre for a more outdoor vibe. Hush (be selective) and jigsaw. White company can do some good cotton items as well.

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 29/12/2025 17:18

Some of the M&S Autograph stuff is great for fabrics, if their styling suits.
