Anybody use an LED mask for hormonal acne?

I have hormonal acne on my chin/jaw/cheeks.

I have had two rounds of roaccutane in the past and don’t want to go there again.

My skin is EXTREMELY oily. Has always been oily but seems twice as bad lately (I’m late 30s).

I think I have tried every topical there is and apart from topical
antibiotics everything else burns my skin so bad. I have very sensitive skin.

Trying to avoid antibiotics for the umpteenth time and came across these LED masks but they are £££ so just wondering if anybody uses one for acne and if so does it work and does it make your skin sensitive?

Thank you!

I have the shark LED mask. I have oily, but reasonably clear, skin, and so mainly bought it for the anti-ageing effects.

The mask has different modes, one for blemishes and one for ageing. I get big hormonal spots on my chin from time to time, and whenever I do, I use the mask on the blemishes setting, and I think that the spots hang around for far less time than they used to.

But - big caveat - I don’t know for sure whether the mask does really have an effect or not, and I have never had acne.

It doesn’t make my skin sensitive at all, but then again I’m not very reactive to most skincare stuff.

Maybe if somewhere like QVC sells a led mask, that might be worth a try, as you can return it even if you’ve used it and discover it doesn’t suit you.

My teenagers use the shark mask with great results on their acne. I use it for collagen boosting - all three use is regularly and have done so for over a year. Also comes with a warranty of 5 years and customer service was brilliant when we had to make use of te warranty.

We tried everything for one of my DCs hormonal acne, and in the end this has got rid of it completely. Not cheap, but amazing and permanent results.

Thank you. Sounds quite promising with the masks. They’re so expensive though, I just hope it helps. In fact I actually want clear skin that I can just forget about not just improved skin but feel like that’s wanting the impossible sadly.

Just had a look at the aviclear. The nearest one to me is about 1.5 hours away so a bit of a commitment. How much did it cost @user568795 if you don’t mind me asking?

Stylepro do an led mask that’s under £100 but although reviews are good for the results they apparently break after a year. Currentbody is good, I have the red series one but am about to get the new multi light (I think)

This might help.

I think it was about £3000 for the three session course. It was expensive but the results have been amazing.

My daughter uses the Current Body one, and it works for her, as in her skin has improved lots since she started using it.

Lidl have a much cheaper version maybe a month ago, might be worth seeing if there are any around.

It will help with skin tone and appearance but it’s not going to do anything about the acne

red light doesn’t do anything for acne

and blue light only kills bacterial acne on the skin- not hormonal

I’m getting one for Xmas but have used them as part of facials in a salon. My therapist said you really need to use it every day for 10-15 mins.
