what Elemis products should I be buying? Budget only about £150/£200, so please help me choose wisely!

I was given a gift set as a present in 2020 and being very lazy about skincare it's lasted me until now. I thought I'd buy myself a couple of bits for Christmas, but oh my God it's confusing! There seem to be hundreds of different products all (according to their website!) with 5 star reviews.

The gift set contained Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads and Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash, both of which I've finished, and Dynamic Resurfacing Super-C Serum which I still have a tonne left of because you have to wash it off and by the time I have done to my satisfaction my skin feels dried out again. Generally speaking I don't like anything you have to apply, leave for a while and then wash off. I prefer either instant 'use right there in the shower' or 'leave on cream'.

For this reason I have several tubes of Clarins hydra-essential face mask I need to use up. I've also recently bought a Nuxe day and night cream which I really like, and I have a tube of Clarins 'beauty flash balm', no idea what I'm supposed to do with that, I just keep it in the car and rub some on when I'm in traffic jams and my face is feeling dry. So I guess nothing too similar to those products?

Sorting by skin type is no help at all because I'm everything - extremely dry, but prone to acne, aging (well, 36, but my skin is really taking a hit!) big pores and acne scars, dark circles and somewhat sensitive (I have had reactions to skincare in the past but I'm not sure exactly what to!).

Anyway, sorry for the rambling - it's just a lot of money for me so I want to make sure I spend it wisely. I'm leaning towards the resurfacing wash and pads again as I had them and liked them, I just want to make sure there's not an even better option? Thanks in advance!

Do you wear makeup you need to take off?

bonesandbooth2025 · 14/12/2025 22:17

Ok if you like those 2 I would say get them here from allbeauty (good website, I use it a lot)
code SPARKLE gets you a tiny bit more off as well
I am very much if it suits your skin and you like it, buy it again! They do have other Elemis stuff as well

With a skin type that’s both dry and breakout-prone, it often helps to keep things simple and focus on hydration and skin-barrier support rather than too many actives. Gentle, nourishing brands like Nurify Skin UK can work well alongside resurfacing products you already know your skin tolerates.

Has anyone used the Yuka app for their skincare? You scan the barcode and it analyses how good (or bad!) the product is, in terms of potentially damaging additives. (It's brilliant for food too - tells you the fat, sugar etc and analyses additives.)

I absolutely love it, and it's saving me a fortune - most skin products are full of cr8p so I'm back on Simple!
