Cleansing routines - how to avoid using so many cotton wool Pads!

I’me a recent convert to skincare and am finding cleansing a bit of a nightmare!
I prefer a cleanser I can use with (for example) cotton wool pads but am finding I’m going through loads of cotton wood pads - 2 for micellar water and 1 for toner each night . I’ve tried a wash off cleanser, but it’s very messy (drips down your arms etc!) … I’ve also tried some reusable pads but they’re not that soft .

what are your top tips for reducing wasteful single use pads , and what cleanser combinations work best?
I’m early sixties, skin still a bit prone to breakouts with enlarged pores .

A soft flannel. Get 7 of them and use a fresh one each day, you can use one to cleanse at night then use it to wash yourself in the shower then put in the laundry.

I use reusable, washable bamboo pads.

I use cerave cleanser or sometimes Beauty of Joseon gingko cleansing oil if im wearing makeup.

I use a cleansing lotion - massage into face and rinse off - followed by a gentle face wash. Sometimes I use a flannel - probably twice a week.

I use coconut oil, massage in and then wipe off with a wet but well rung out warm flannel. I do this in the shower so no problems about water dripping, etc.

I bought a pack of fine micro cloth types and I just throw them in the wash.

Just use a flannel. I don't use any cotton wool pads.

Muslin squares are your skin's best friend!

They also wash really easily and dry so fast.

If you don't want to buy the expensive ones, just get baby muslins for swaddling and cut them up.

Just use a flannel. I’m not sure how it’s ‘messy’.

I use fleece flannels for babies I got them from Amazon and use a clean one daily.

I've never got water down my arms, you apply the balm to your face then wipe off with the flannel that's been wrung out .

Aaha - I feel like a muppet now … I’d never even thought of using a flannel!
I’ll look into buying some softer / muslin type ones as suggested above.

I can recommend reusable baby wipes. These are a good size with a cotton side for gentle exfoliation and a fleece side for gentle removal of eye makeup. I find regular facecloths a bit harsh for this. They also wash and dry really well - just chuck them in the washing machine.

I use liz earl hot cloths cleanser so that’s the cleanser covered. I do use single use pads for toner and acids but that’s because I want them to be soft and/or guaranteed sterile if I am working in open pores. They biodegrade so I don’t really see it as an issue.
