Sulphate, silicone, paraben free?

Hi, just after advice. My hair is naturally curly, currently jaw length. No colour on it at all. I’m mid 50s & menopausal.
I’ve read so much about using shampoo/conditioner that’s free from silicone, sulphates & parabens, & advertising for curly girl method & Only Curls products. Are they really so good? Obviously they’re not cheap so wondering if worth it. Currently using Garnier Hair Food Shampoo & Conditioner & WellaFlowing Form hair balm. Seems to work pretty well but can be a challenge after I’ve slept on it!

My curly hairdresser uses Only Curls, I can't say it's any better than the 99p silicone free conditioner from Home Bargains!! I tend to cycle through the cheap silicone free options as my hair seems to like a change now and again! I haven't used shampoo for years as my curls are happier with a co-wash. I use Umberto Giannini curl gel, squish it into wet hair (wet enough for it to squelch). Silicone free is definitely the key to frizz free curls for me

Give Me Cosmetics do a range of sulphate and silicone free hair products. I’m using it at the moment - not blown away but seems fine and not too expensive - it’s about £20 for shampoo, conditioner, treatment, cream, heat protector and a brush.

There's nothing wrong with parabens, I'm fact its the best preservative. I use cantu shampoo and lidl own brand of conditioner. I have the cantu curl creme but it just seems to make my hair sticky

I've done sulphate free for a while before but after a while you need the sulphate to get rid of the product build up. I really don't think it made that much of a difference not using them.
Same with silicones - what really is the problem with them? They coat the hair - why is that a bad thing - wouldn't that make your hair look glossier?
I have wavy to curly hair - it's always a challenge after I've slept on it if I've used curly girl method, even with a silk bonnet. It looks lovely on the first day though.
