Does anyone do their own BIAB at home?

I get BIAB done every month. I’m a bit sick of paying £38 a month for something I could do at home. I had gel to do at home years ago, but it used to peel off.

Where can I get a whole set that I can do at home? I want BIAB which will stay for four weeks ideally.

Anyone? I’ve picked up some stuff but just interested if anyone else does their nails?

I do! Easy to do alright, not easy to do very well, in my experience, but I'm not particularly good at anything requiring fine motor skills. I stick to light colours or shimmery/glittery ones (less obvious when they chip or you fuck it up in my experience) and make sure you do all the prep work properly, get a bonder if it's required for your base coat, etc. Also check that what you're buying is HEMA free and don't get it on your skin if you can help it, to avoid causing yourself reactions or developing an allergy.

I’ve gone for mylee at the moment as it’s the most accessible. I’m really conscious of the fact I can’t get it on my skin!

Yes I use the Mylee lamp and polishes. They do builder gel as well as normal base gel. I don’t think you can tell they’re not done professionally, as PP said do the prep properly, you can get wipes to use as the final step before applying the base.

I have done infills at home a couple o f times when I've not been able to get to the salon and although they aren't perfect they do the job, I could probably do with buying an electric file though as taking down the length is the most time consuming part manually!

I’ve been doing mine for a few years now. I’ve improved so much over the time watching tutorials on TikTok. I think box of buttons is right in the assertion that it’s easy to do but not easy to do well!

It’s good if you’re treating it as an hobby, IMO and enjoying the process of learning and improving. It can be quite rewarding. I now often get compliments on my nails and people asking where I’ve hit them done which makes my day!

I’ve been doing mine at home for the past couple of years for the same reason as you. I’ve got the aimeilei BIAB set with the base coat and top coat.

if you keep practicing at it, it gets easier over time. The trick ive found to avoid using too much in one got and gradually build up for the nail shape. Also invest in some decent files or an electric one.

If you prep your nails well it should last like a salon set! Good luck ☺️
