Dry body brushing

Do you do it ?

I think you are supposed to brush every day before you shower (or bathe). Is that right ?

I do use a fab body scrub once or twice a week, I guess that's prob ok for exfoliation purposes, but body brushing is supposed to be good for your circulation too, isn't it ?

Yes, I have an elemis one. You start at your feet and brush upwards towards your heart. I then exfoliate with garnier sugar scrub in the shower. It's really good, it's one of the few scrubs I've used that doesn't leave a film on my skin.

But body brushing, yes do it. E'spa do them too. They're about ten pounds.

I do it and it is excellent skin is smoother than ever achived with scrubs and creams and stays soft and smooth all day... cellulite does get a battering .. not sure it all goes but pretty much ... I totally recommend it .. and it is quite invigorating in the morning really wakes me up..

Mavornia · 09/06/2008 09:33

I've tried to do it but it makes me queasy

cornsilk · 09/06/2008 09:38

I've seen the elemis one on the TV - it's meant to be really good.

Pippo · 09/06/2008 09:41

do you have to buy a 'special' brush or is there a substitute that you can give it a try with?

NomDePlume · 09/06/2008 10:06

Blimey ! The elemis one is £17

Boots do one without a long handle for a few quid.

I use a body shop one with a long handle... works really well and is good for reaching round my back... not sure you need to spend £17 -- more important that bristles are just firm enough to brush of dead skin... the first few times I had clouds of cells floating round... but that has stopped now... it should not hurt but at same time should not tickle .. if that makes sense?

lazarou · 09/06/2008 11:01

If you are going to get one you should really get a proper one, the boots ones aren't firm enough.

blousy · 09/06/2008 12:40

I've got the elemis one too. I do it before I get into the shower in the morning - it's the only thing that keeps cellulite at bay, ime
