Looking for recommendations of hypoallergenic bath bombs for 7yo DD’s stocking. The more like Lush the better… fun shapes, glitter, interesting colours etc (although I realise the glitter and colours may be the things that make them not eczema friendly).

DD is obsessed with bath bombs and her older sister has her own money and no skin complaints so buys her own Lush ones and it’s tough for little DD that she can’t join in, or if she does, she itches for a week.

I’ve googled and there are some out there, but I trust Mumsnet recommendations!

Do you know what she is allergic to? One of my kids came up in hives with a bubble bath and I think it was the red colour in it. Always been fine with all of the primark bath bombs and they come in fun shapes.

She just has eczema and just generally itches after all the bath bombs we’ve tried.

Dd has incredibly sensitive skin and even reacts when getting a bit of mayonnaise or similar on her face, but strangely can cope with Lush bath bombs. I always thought they must be more gentle than others, but it sounds like something isn't suitable for your dd. Could you perhaps look into how they can be made and create a diy kit while leaving out anything that seems like it could affect her skin?

Bath bombs at actually very easy to make. You can make them without any essential oils and just do fun colors and fizz. You can use shaped molds too.

Pick a neutral oil you know doesn’t cause her irritation. I like coconut but something simple like olive oil works. You can patch test that part by just putting a drop on the inner arm then waiting 72 hours to make sure no reaction happens.

Absolutely recommend Bubble Beez Macclesfield.
The business was created on the back of not being able to find bath bombs which didnt give a reaction. 😀

Lush has a playdoh like product called Fun, in rainbow colours. My DS has very sensitive skin but gets on well with this.
